Friday January 3, 2020 – Kicked off the last stop for She Got Game this year, I posted up at Wheeler HS in the Atlanta area and caught some of the Top North Carolina Teams that made the trip this weekend.
Winston Salem Christian School (NC) – 60
Blanche Ely (FL) – 44
2021 – Guard – Angelica Juste-Jean – Scored 16 points and put on 1 of the most efficient performances I have seen recently, Angelica was 6 -7 on FGA, 2 – 3 on 3PT FGA, 2 – 2 from the Free Throw Line, she was able to get to her spots and receive accurate passes to get her shots off. The team was able to jump out to an early lead partially due to the shooting from Angelica and went on to cruise to victory over an athletic & scrappy team in Blanche Ely.
Northwest Guilford High School (NC) – 48
Hebron Academy (GA) – 51
2020 – Guard – Reagan Kargo – Scored 23 Points and carried the team almost to a Victory in a highly contested game, Kargo who has recently committed to Limestone College (SC) to continue her Academic & Athletic career was a mismatch on the court. The coaches & team kept finding her, she finished 10 – 22 on FGA and was 1 – 1 from the Free Throw line, she was not as accurate from beyond the arc, going 2 – 10, but overall it was a magnificent performance.
Myers Park High School (NC) – 50
IMG Academy (FL) – 43
2021 – Guard – Taylor Henderson – Scored 18 Points and lead her team to a come from behind Victory in 1 of the best games of the weekend, both teams took turns throughout the 1st 3 periods being in front. Myers park behind Henderson closed out the game for a tremendous Win against a team with a strong National presence. Henderson was very efficient on the court Making 6 – 9 FGA and also 6 – 8 Free Throw attempts, she did not attempt a 3-Ptr, she stuck to the Game plan and kept attacking the rim against a team without a real rim protector, it paid off for the team.
