Coppell hung around in this game for the first half of play, but Hebron’s unrelenting performance on both ends of the court was simply too much for the Cowboys to overcome. The Hawks ultimately ended up winning at home by a score of 60-38.
Here are seven intriguing prospects from the game:
Sierra Dickson – 2020 5’7 Combo Guard (AD Elite Peterson) Hebron HS – The Texas State commit is such a complete guard. Dickson can shoot the three, pass the rock, and finish through contact. All while simultaneously being a pesky on ball defender at the other end. She finished the night with 15 points and several steals.
Courtlyn Loudermill – 2020 5’8 Shooting Guard (Pro Skills 17U Nationals) Hebron HS – Loudermill loves to put the ball on the floor and take it strong to the hole. She is a decisive and crafty driver with a nice Euro step. The senior guard is also an accurate passer, smart decision maker, and showed that she can drain the three ball from the catch.
Cammie McKinney – 2022 5’7 Point Guard (Drive Nation 16U EYBL) Hebron HS – The sophomore floor general possesses tremendous handles, including a great crossover move that she can employ in a number of situations. McKinney has quick hands on defense and displayed the ability to go coast-to-coast numerous times vs. Coppell. She knows how to turn steals into easy opportunities for herself and her teammates.
Demauria Miles – 2021 5’6 Shooting Guard Hebron HS – Miles operates as the sixth man for the Hawks. She had an incredible shooting night on Friday. She hit three catch-and-shoot triples and ended the contest as Hebron’s leading scorer, contributing 16 points. She converted a three-point play at the foul line as well.
Chloe Hassman – 2021 5’9 Wing Coppell HS – Hassman is an explosive wing who does the majority of her damage from within 10 feet of the basket. She is a solid ball handler with long arms. She cuts hard and plays physical basketball at both ends. The junior led all scorers in this matchup, finishing with 18 points.
Megan O’Neil – 2020 5’6 Point Guard Coppell HS – The Senior point guard is a downhill player with great straight-line speed. She has a high motor and is fearless at both ends. O’Neil is a scrappy defender who was constantly diving for loose balls. Her hustle was never in question.
India Howard – 2022 6’0 Forward/Center Coppell HS – Howard has excellent size and athleticism. Her ability to move around on offense makes her a mismatch for opposing defenders. She is a ferocious rebounder with soft hands and is a really solid rim protector as well, ending the night with a couple of big-time rejections.
