The next edition of finding the top shooters around girls basketball in New Jersey comes from the New Jersey Athletic Conference. The NJAC is a large conference full of many teams with postseason hopes. This is a conference that features many strong shooters and that will be key come tournament time. Here are the top shooters from the NJAC this season.
Maddie Hartnett (2020) | Chatham
Hartnett has been a leader for Chatham all season long. She has scored in double-figures in every game this season and has done a lot of work from beyond the arc. She has nine games with three or more three’s including six games with four or more. Her season-high is a 23 point performance against Morris Knolls where she knocked down seven shots from deep. Hartnett has led Chatham to 11-2 this season and they are not done yet.
Stephanie Hutnick (2021) | Wallkill Valley
Hutnick has done most of her this season from beyond the arc. She has knocked down 31 three’s which is tops on her team and among the top in the conference. Wallkill Valley has won six in a row. Over that six game win streak, Hutnick has knocked down 21 three’s including six against Hackettstown and five against Lenape Valley. It is not a coincidence that Hutnick has gotten hot during Wallkill Valley’s win streak.
Bailey Chapman (2023) | Sparta
Chapman has emerged as one of the top players in the conference as a freshman. She came in and immediately set the tone with five three’s against Voorhees in her fourth game. Chapman has been a big time scorer over her first season and that is exactly what Voorhees has needed. She has 31 three’s on the season which is among the top in the conference.
Daniella Jambrina (2020) | Villa Walsh
Jambrina has been Villa Walsh’s best shooter this season. This is a team with some dynamic scorers and Jambrina keeps it going from deep. She knocked five three’s in a win over Brearley. This was one of seven games with multiple shots from deep. Villa Walsh has won 10 of their last 11 games and Walsh has had a big hand in all of them.
Emma Wax (2020) | Montville
Montville is unbeaten this season. They are one of few undefeated teams left in New Jersey. Wax has been one of their leading scorers this season and their best shooter. She has knocked down a three in all but one game this season. Wax has hit three shots from deep in her previous two games against Lodi Immaculate and Morris Knolls. Her season-high came against Hillside when she scored 24 points and hit four three’s.
Carly Fitzmorris (2021) | Pope John
Fitzmorris leads Pope John with 21 three’s this season. She hit four three’s in back-to-back victories over Parsippany Hills and Roselle Catholic. She has been hot from deep all season long. Pope John has lost their last two in a row and will need Fitzmorris to keep it going if they want to make a run down the stretch of the season.
