Ashiian Hunter – Mesa
Hunter leads all freshmen in scoring in Arizona as the Jackrabbits’ lead guard. She has shown, with room still to grow, a great ability to score from all parts of the floor, as well as dish a few assists and collect a few rebounds a game. One really impressive attribute, though, is her defense. Through 11 games, she averaged almost four steals per contest.
Kiley Miller – Centennial
Miller is another high-level scorer at a young age, averaging over 16 points per game. But, her biggest impact has come in defense and rebounding. She is a terror to get by for driving players at the rim. And, her 17.8 rebounds lead not only freshman, but all of the state, regardless of class. She will continue to grow and will possibly be even more dominant.
Aaliyah Garcia – Dobson
Garcia has provided a great second guard option for the Dobson Mustangs who have surged to a 13-3 record thus far in the season. She averages almost 10 points per game, and is somebody that can be counted on night in and out for the young squad.
Mia Davis – Xavier Prep
I saw Davis play in a tournament this summer in Avondale, and she already looked like a great varsity player, so it was a shock when I learned that she had yet to even play an official high school game, yet. She has the size and versatility you want of a starter already, so it should be fun to watch her grow.
