The season is getting into full swing. With quality teams playing in exciting games on practically a nightly basis, there are bound to be some impressive individual performances throughout the season.
Here are the North Dakota Players of the Week
Logan Nissley, Bismarck Century
Nissley has been terrific so far this season, averaging better than 12 points per game as just a freshman. The 5-foot-10 forward went for 20 points, nine rebounds and five assists plus recorded two steals while knocking down four 3-pointers without committing a turnover in the team’s 69-42 win over Jamestown.
Lakyn Darras, Mandan
Darras has been a double-double machine thus far for the Braves, leading them to a 5-2 start. The senior guard was excellent in their win over Watford City last week, scoring 21 points on 9-of-13 shooting, while grabbing 10 rebounds and dishing out five assists. Darras is averaging 14.5 points and 11 rebounds and is playing much better in recent weeks than early in the year.
Mykell Heidlebaugh, Rugby
Rugby is one of the best teams in Class B and Heidlebaugh has been a key cog in the effort. The freshman guard is averaging right around 10 points and six rebounds but her ability to anchor the team’s defense has been a driving force for the Panthers’ success. Heilebaugh had a terrific game in the win over Mohall-Lansford-Sherwood, scoring 10 points, grabbing five rebounds, handing out three assists, blocking a shot and recording a whopping seven steals.
