POLL: Player of the Week (Week 7)
Here are the nominees for this week:
Hayden Barrier, Montgomery County – The 8th grader from Mount Sterling had a strong week. In a loss to George Rogers Clark, she led the team with 14 points. In a win over Morgan County, she scored a team high 16 points and then finished the week with 20 points in another losing effort against GRC. In 3 games, Barrier had 50 points, 10 assists and 12 rebounds.
Ella Thompson, Bethlehem – The Banshees went 4-0 on the week and Thompson led them with 27 points and 8 rebounds in a win over Bardstown. Two nights later, they won their All A opener against Green County and Thompson led the team with 20 points and 18 rebounds. Two days after that, they won the 5th region All A while Thompson had another double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds. Ella had team highs in 19 points and 9 rebounds as Bethlehem rolled over Washington County.
Emilee Hope, Henderson County – The Lady Colonels had a 3-0 week and Hope led the way. Against Apollo, she scored 1 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Against Union County, she had 26 points and 2 rebounds. Against previously undefeated Madisonville, Emilee had 31 points and 8 rebounds while shooting 6/10 from behind the three point line.
Kenzie Herald, Owsley County – Kenzie helped lead Owsley to 3 wins on the week. Tuesday night, she had 15 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists in a district win over Powell County. Thursday night Herald had 23 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in a win over Buckhorn. She finished her week with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in another district win over Lee County.
Dynastee White, Butler – The Lady Bears scored a huge win over Mercy on Saturday. Dynastee had 26 points and 7 rebounds. Butler also beat Central Hardin on Saturday but no stats have been posted for that win.
London Sweeney, Collegiate – Sweeney led Collegiate to the All A state tournament this week in Richmond. In their win over Brown, London had 15 points, 10 assists, 4 rebounds and 4 steals.
Lacey Bradshaw, Notre Dame – Lacey helped lead the Panda Bears to a 3-0 week. She posted 15 points and 5 rebounds in a win over Grant County then followed that performance with 16 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Male. She did not play in the win over Carroll County.
Amaya Asher, Central – The Jackets had a 2-1 week and Asher is a large reason for the two wins. She had 20 points in a huge win over Moore, 10 points and 3 rebounds in a loss to Bullitt East and 28 points and 5 rebounds in a win over Thomas Nelson.
