Positional Breakdown: 2022 Power Forwards
Our updated rankings for the 2022 class is now out. We pushed the number of power forwards ranked from 25 to 33 and saw just a bit of movement within the top five. Below you can find the positional rankings for each player as well as a breakdown of the position overall. I’ll also highlight three players who have a good chance to move up by the end of the season.
The forward group in the 2022 class is actually very strong both at the top and the depth throughout. With the rankings update, we saw no movement in the top spot as Stuelke looks to have that locked up for the entirety of her career. We did, however, see a change at the #2 and #3 as Meyer now slides into the second spot on the list while Gyamfi slides down a single spot. Interestingly, these three players are the top three players in the overall rankings as well. After those three you have a couple of players in Moreland, Luneckas, and Wilson that are jack-of-all-trades. They can score, rebound, and play multiple spots but haven’t hit their true potential yet. Players 7-15 are all really closely grouped and by the end of the season a couple of them should start to separate themselves. There is a huge range in the 2022 forward class that we don’t see within many other position groups in the class. There are a healthy number of options for high major schools all the way to Division III schools in the class.
Eviyon Richardson Eviyon Richardson 5'7" | SF Iowa City | 2022 State IA is someone who played really well in spurts this summer and with added athleticism and shooting ability I think can slide over to the wing with time. As she continually strives to improve her jumper and stretch away from the rim I think she’s going to garner a lot of college attention.
Avery Jeschke Avery Jeschke 5'4" | PG Carroll | 2022 IA is a player who could be completely off the list or could slide into the top ten at this point next year. She has skill and knows the game fairly well, she just needs to gain strength on her frame. Once she does that she could be a very solid player for Carroll.
Lilly Isenhour Lilly Isenhour 5'9" | PF Prince of Peace | 2022 State IA is having a stellar season for Prince of Peace as she has continually racked up a double-double on almost a nightly basis. She will never to continue getting more efficient scoring the ball but all the pieces are there to be a really solid small college post player.
