The first annual Sandy’s Spiel Showcase provided a stage for strong programs with underrecruited talent to be seen at Lanier High School. Many players capitalized on their opportunity and further helped their potential recruitment. Here is a list of top performers.

2020 6-3 C Christabel Ezumah – Lanier
A torn ACL in a postseason all-star game hurt Ezumah’s recruiting momentum as High Majors started to check in on the defensive stalwart after the Longhorns shocked the nation by upsetting Lovejoy in the Class 6A state championship. Playing against a tiny team of freshmen, Ezumah ate up Elbert County inside with 13 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals and 4 blocks. Ezumah is still raw offensively and can have some awkward movements, but she is athletic and relentless on the glass and does a good job of walling up and standing tall without fouling. The high-academic post still hasn’t reached her potential. Her defense is ahead of her offense, but she has shown flashes of a developing post game.
