Talaysia Cooper Scores her 2,000 Point as a Sophomore….


East Clarendon High School is a Small school in a small town, but they have had recent success in Girls Basketball thanks to the talents of 2022 - 6’0” - Guard  Talaysia Cooper. Coming into the 2019 - 2020 Season she was already the most decorated Girls player in the Schools History, she has already been named All State, Team MVP, and lead the them to the 2018 Class 1A SCHSL State Championship as an 8th Grader. Already surpassing the 1,500 point mark as a Freshman last year, it was only a matter of time before she passed the next milestone in her career.


On Tuesday January 14. I was able to attend the game - with speaking to Head Coach: Mike Lowder before the game he mentioned that Talaysia was 2 points away from 2,000…. That meant that the 1st 2 Ptr, or 3-Ptr she made was going to put her name into the Record books as the 1st person in the schools history to surpass this number of points.  From the Tip Talaysia seemed a little off, missing 1
