Class B – total players on rosters = 1,445
Avery Broughton (2023) Corsica/Stickney (4-0) – strong paint scorer and rebounder with great floor vision plus leadership mentality.
Zoey Wohlleber (2022) Waubay/Summit (3-2) – Just returned from high ankle sprain and flu to dazzle home crowd with floaters, drivers, and handles. Under-appreciated.
Alayna Benike (2021), Castlewood (3-1) – Roncalli zone squeezed down Castlewood offense, but Alayna zipped around, as usual, getting open and frustrating defenders
Julia Weber (2022), Bridgewater/Emery (3-1) – Keeps everything under control and scoring almost at will. High BB IQ and quick to exploit weaknesses.
Malloy O’Malley(2020), Irene/Wakonda (5-1) – led OT win at Vibourg/Hurley – sets winning standard for I/W with hustle, movement, and shot making.
Braiden Westley (2021), Colman/Egan (5-0) – good energy with handles, either left or right – drives and defends well
Class A – total players on rosters = 1,097
Morgan Fiedler of Aberdeen Roncalli on the attack Saturday 01-14-20Cami Stevenson (2021), Hamlin (5-0) – Can become a big-time scorer, fantastic rebounder, or thread-the-needle passer, as needed to win. Great potential, period.
Haleigh Timmer (2021) STM (5-0) – Avg 28-ppg & 10-rpg – Three’s or rim runs – pick your poison
Olivia Kiefer (2023), RC Christian (1-3) – hit 38-pts in loss to Hill City
Morgan Hammerbeck (2020), WInner (4-0) – leader, scorer, rebounder, and theft expert. Meets all criteria for POY.
Morgan Fiedler (2022), Aberdeen Roncalli (4-1) – Smooth point, with superior defensive positioning
Bailey Conrad (2020), Tea Area (4-0)– Effective in all phases and agile, she dictates game tempo.
Rianna Filipi (2020), Lennox (5-0) – Ball skills, scorer, always in motion to arrive at the right spot, and great teammate.
Class AA – total players on rosters = 596
Emma Ronsiek (2020), O’Gorman (3-0) – Meets all criteria for POY. Scoring at all three levels, with active defense first.
Kyah Watson (2020), RC Stevens (5-0) – leader and best player on best AA team.
Ndjakalenca Mwenentanda (2022) SF Washington (3-2) – Quickly becoming first-option scorer, leading rebounder and disruptive defender.
Morgan Hansen (2020), SF Lincoln (3-2) – Scoring and leading, Morgan will get her teammates focused and the season turned around.
This weekend, Dakota State University in Madison scheduled nine games in the 2020 Mustang Seeds Shoot-Out. Nebraska and Minnesota teams are amoung competitors. Games start at 8:30am; the link is http://www.dsuathletics.com/article/4912.php for complete details.
