Natalie Bruns 6’0″ Kirkwood: The versatile wing player was one of the top all-around players in the tournament. She averaged 22 points a game and could get buckets from just about anywhere on the court. She could post up and get points in the paint while also knocking down 3-pointers off the pick and pop. She could also handle the ball and make mid-range jumpers. Whatever is needed, she can get the job done.
Jayla Kelly 6’2″ Parkway Central: The University of Missouri signee is a strong, physical post player who can also combine a little finesse with her power game. She had a crowd of defenders draped around her throughout the tournament which kept her offensive numbers down, but she did a nice job of rebounding and passing well out of the double and triple teams.
Que Love 5’4″ Edwardsville (IL): The consummate point guard who led the Tigers to a berth in the championship game, Love keeps the team organized and moving in the right direction at all times. When it’s time to score, she can score with his quickness by getting into the lane or knock down open 3-pointers. She is also a lock-down defender who can provide excellent on-ball pressure.
Mackenzie Rhodes 5’7″ Parkway North: A very capable southpaw wing player who has the ability to shoot the ball from 3-point range, but can also put the ball on the floor to get to the basket. She has the ability to change speeds and keep defenders off balance when she is making her way to the basket.
Kate Rolfes 5’6″ Incarnate Word: The veteran wing player was a key factor in the Red Knights winning another Viz championship. In addition to her leadership, she provides a consistent 3-point shot to keep the floor spaced. She made a couple of big 3-pointers in the fourth quarter in the Red Knights’ victory over Edwardsville in the championship game.
Jakayla Kirk 5’10” Hazelwood Central: A very athletic forward who averaged 17 points a game in the tournament. She is a matchup problem with his size and ability to put the ball on the floor and drive against opposing post player. She had many impressive takes and finishes at the basket while also being able to run the floor in transition.
Faith Bland 5’10” Metro: The versatile forward performs many different tasks for her team from scoring, rebounding and facilitating as one of the team’s primary ball handler. She can go inside and score against smaller defenders while also being able to take bigger players off the dribble. She makes good decisions with her high basketball IQ. She has signed with Texas A&M-Commerce.
