I recently published my 1000th article with Prep Hoops and Prep Girls Hoops combined. It has been an awesome experience, traveling the country and watching players from Michigan to South Carolina to Texas and back. I’ve seen kids battling just to get a look from a college coach to young men showing me piles of offers. In honor of all of you allowing me to write 1000 articles, I’m going to give you 10 sophomores that will play college basketball someday. The players will be from various positions and skill levels, but all have the potential to play at the next level.
Brooke Daniels (PG, Macomb L’Anse Creuse)
Daniels has the look of a scoring point guard. She can create space for her jumper and also put teammates in scoring positions.
Elle Irwin (SG, Rockford)
Irwin is a good shooter with excellent shot selection. She’s an active defender that steps in passing lanes.
Raigan Lawrence (PG, Avondale)
Lawrence is a disciplined floor general. She has a quick and smooth release off her jumper.
Sydney Pnacek (SF, Dexter)
Pnacek can flat out shoot, but she’s very disciplined in doing so. She seems to always have her balance and get good looks at the rim.
Amanda Roach (CG, Hartland)
Roach is really growing as a player. She’s a scoring threat for Hartland and she makes the defense account for her at all times.
Alecsis Smith (F/C, Bay City)
Smith is one of the top young post players in Michigan. She will end up with a laundry list of offers.
Jaci Tubergen (SG, Hudsonville)
Everything about Tubergen screams “Division 1”. She’s a versatile outside-in or inside-out scorer and can guard multiple positions on the other end.
Karianna Woods (CG, Arbor Prep)
In an incredibly talented backcourt, Woods may not get all the press. But she is a very talented player in her own right and has the skills and versatility of a next level prospect.
Jordan Wright (PG, Wayne Memorial)
Never doubt a Wayne Memorial point guard. There’s a track record here and Wright will continue it. Her strong crossover helps her create off the bounce.
Kendal Zeiter (F, Troy)
Zeiter seals her defender when posting and has strong hands in the paint. Zeiter is plus defender that can alter and block shots.
