Playoff time is a chance to put all of your prior month’s work to the test as a team and person. For each player, who are the leaders and the stars of their team, this is your time. For those that are on the verge of taking their skills to the collegian level, this is your time to set your-self apart and prove why you are going to the next level! Now is the time to lead your team to victory against the best competition your state has to offer. These are moments for legends! You either carry your team to the crown or you go out swinging. Either way, you bring your best game and you lay it on the line for the title. Here are 4 players I’m looking forward to watching in the South Carolina state playoffs!
Aleysha Wade
Wade is a junior guard for Clover High School in Clover, SC. Wade is a very good player. She controls the tempo and makes positive things happen for her teammates. She is on a very strong team and she is the engine that makes it go. She passes the ball, she can score, fast off the dribble, good IQ and plays well on defense. She is the type of player that can lead her team deep into the playoffs. I’m looking to see her leadership and take over a game skills flourish during these playoffs.
Sincere Hicks
Hicks is a junior guard for Daniel High School in Central, SC. Hicks can to take a game over. As the stakes get higher in the playoffs, Hicks must be the leader and engine to make sure her team gives total effort. Hicks is fast and can find ways to score the ball. The key will be her ability to get others involved as it will take a team effort to win this time of year. I’m anxious to see how she performs on the playoff level. These are the moments you can make a name for yourself!
Fulwiley is a junior guard from Keenan High School in Columbia, SC. She is very good! She could be the best player in the state as a freshmen. I’m looking forward to seeing her game elevate during the playoffs. Her team fell short last year in the state title game so I think they’ve had a taste and want to seal the deal this time around. Fulwiley is fast, quick, smart, can shoot, dribble, defend, play lanes, get long, create shots and pass well. She can do everything! This is a chance for her to dominate under the big lights, I’m ready to see her do it!
Adams is a junior guard for South Point High School in Rock Hill, SC. South Point has a talented team and have a number of players that I could put the spot light on but I think Adams is the X-factor. South Point is good point-blank but if Adams can get loose and go on a tear, South Point will be hard to beat. South Point is in a tough conference and state finals bracket so any edge or extra Adams can lend will be vital. She can score in the paint, on the break, plays defense, can hit the jumper and just flat-out play. As teams try to defend the senior stars on South Point, Adams will be the key to a deep run!
