Southeast Raleigh Lady Bulldogs
The Southeast Raleigh Lady Bulldogs are the No. 1 seed in the East region after going 23-1 on the season and 12-0 in Cap 7 play thanks to UNC commit Anya Poole, James Madison commit Jamia Hazell, unsigned senior Destini Abramson-Lee and sophomore wing Bobbi Smith look to make a statement with a state title. They’ll have a first-round bye before hosting the winner of Leesville Road/Hoggard on Thursday night.
Holly Springs Lady Golden Hawks
The Holly Springs Lady Golden Hawks are the No. 3 seed in the East region and have a first-round bye coming out of the South Wake Athletic Conference. They will host the winner between No. 14 Seventy-First/No. 19 Rolesville on Thursday night. Junior guard Jayde Gamble leads a young and talented group; sophomore forward Sammy Ackles, senior forward Majesti Richardson and freshman guard Staci Williams.
Jordan Lady Falcons
The Jordan Lady Falcons are No. 9 seed in the East 4A region in quite a talented field. They weren’t a team blessed with a first-round bye but they still managed to win both the Triangle 8 Regular Season and Conference Tournament crown. Queens-bound guard Jori Wilks and junior Nia Howard are a few names to keep an eye on in the backcourt. Sophomore Aysian Hinton and freshman Sydney Barker are two other names to keep an eye on. They’ll host Green Level on Tuesday in the first round
Millbrook Lady Wildcats
The Millbrook Lady Wildcats earned a No. 10 seed in the 4A East region of the State Playoffs. Juniors Reiven Douglas and Keanna Rembert and freshmen Reychel Douglas and Destinee Barnes are a tough bunch when locked in. They’ll face Green Hope in the opening round on Tuesday and with a win they’ll advance to face the South Central Lady Jaguars, who got a bye in the first round
Apex Friendship Lady Patriots
The Apex Friendship Lady Patriots are a No. 11 seed despite winning the South Wake Athletic Conference Tournament. They saw 2022 wing Indya Nivar post 47 points in their conference tournament victory over Holly Springs.They’ve got more than just Nivar though with senior Tori Washington and freshman Milla Gnann and Victoria Sagne. They’ll host Panther Creek in the opening round on Tuesday with Jack Britt High School awaiting the winner.
Leesville Road Lady Pride
The Leesville Road Lady Pride are a No. 16 seed in the East region and host Hoggard in the first round. They’ll need to get the most out of Lucy Leen, sophomore Kyla McGhee and junior Nia Young as they head into a tough slate for the State Playoffs.
