Now, it is time to take a look at what’s to come this Friday in the Kaye Garms region.
Kindyll Wetta#1 Valor Christian (22-1, 8-0 Jeffco) vs. #32 Far Northeast (15-8, 8-2 Denver Prep)
The Eagles will be coming off of a first-round bye to remind everyone why they are the top-ranked team leading into the postseason. There are multiple pace-pushers and floor generals that will lead Valor. One being 2021 guard Kindyll Wetta, who is averaging 13.4 ppg, 4.6 rpg, 4.5 apg, and 4.4 spg. 2022 forward Raegan Beers – 15.7 ppg, 9.8 rpg, and 2.2 bpg – is arguably one of the best post players in the state who is versatile enough to defend from anywhere on the court. The Warriors are coming off of a first-round win behind Tosjanae Bonds. The senior guard is leading the state in points (25.1) and steals (9.4) per game. Warriors teammate, and fellow senior, Rajana Cox will be looking to add to her eight pts and 7.9 reb average in what will most likely be the toughest match of the season.

Ny’Era West
#16 Rangeview (17-6, 9-1 East Metro) vs. #17 Chaparral (16-8, 5-5 Continental)
Rangeview will be making their postseason debut behind sophomore phenom Ny’Era West. She is a relentless guard who is averaging 16.4 ppg, 5.8 rbp, and 4.4 spg. Raiders teammate Brianna Linnear is a junior guard who has recorded 13.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg, and 3.8 apg over the season. The Chaparral Wolverines will be led by sophomores Avery Bang and Payton Bang; twin 6’1” forwards who have combined for over 450 points and 300 rebounds this season.

Other Wolverines to watch: Jessica Formento, Keegan Armetta, Lola Nordhagen
#8 Fossil Ridge (19-4, 12-0 Front Range) vs. #25 Windsor (13-11, 10-6 Tri-Valley)
The number of veteran players on Fossil Ridge’s roster makes the Sabercats one of the tougher teams in the tournament. Senior Lauren Zwetzig is averaging 10.5 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while fellow senior Sophia Hadad is averaging nine points and 5.7 rebounds a game. Windsor will be looking to junior guard Kylie Sanger – 13.8 points per game – and sophomore guard Mykaela Moore – 9.3 points per game – to lead the Wizards to a second-round playoff win.

Seairra Hughes
#9 Vista PEAK Prep (21-2, 9-1 East Metro) vs. #24 Thornton (20-4, 10-1 East Metro)
The dominant Vista PEAK Bisons will be coming off of their first-round bye with Seairra Hughes leading the stampede. The unstoppable senior forward/guard is averaging a double-double – 15.7 ppg and 10.6 rpg – with 4.3 assists per game. Sophomore center/forward Mikenzie Jones – 11.4 ppg, 5.7 rpg, 3.5 bpg – is one of Vista’s many additions to Vista’s arsenal. The Thornton Trojans have a few serious weapons of their own. Senior guard Shamahra Henderson is also averaging a double-double with 20.5 ppg and 12.9 rpg to go along with her 4.4 steals and 3.9 assists per game. She and teammate Monique Delatorre – 14.5 ppg, 4.4 spg, 4.2 apg, and 3.7 rpg – will be looking to lead the Trojans to victory on Friday.
