Aberdeen Roncalli, a class A South Dakota school, has a few prospects that need some attention. Lets get down to it.
Morgan Fiedler – (5’7/PG/2022) – Really nice player at the point guard position. Has a very well-balanced and complete game. A quick and explosive athlete. Great at handling ball-pressure and the full-court press. Handles the ball with both the right and left with ease. Shows great quickness with the ball and driving to the hoop – able to finish consistently. Drives to the hoop until the defense stops her, knifing through the defense and finishing. Has a good ability to feed the post. Also, as a passer, she can make the long pass up the court. Defensively, she’s very solid, very rarely getting beat off the dribble to the hoop. Hustles back hard on defense to limit fast break opportunities.
Olivia Hanson – (5’6/G/2022) – Defense, defense, and some more defense. Olivia Hanson gets after it on the defensive side of the ball. The team’s best on-ball defender, constantly pressuring the ball-handler and making it difficult on them.
Madelyn Bragg -(6’1/C/2022) – Great up-and-coming prospect to monitor for the next couple years. Very long frame and an impressive wing-span and length. Bragg is a long and athletic prospect that moves well – glides down the court. Able to get high to snag rebounds. She had a strong offensive rebound and left-hand put-back against Miller. She showed the ability to get the ball on the post and make a quick move to finish with her left. On the defensive side, she’s even able to play on the perimeter, using her length on shooters and on the drive.
Elissa Hammrich – (5’10/F-C/2021) – Decent-sized prospect. Smart defender in the post, holding her ground. Possesses good defensive feet. Hammrich had a crucial steal and left-hand finish off the glass in the fourth quarter.
Mariah Winegar – (5’10/F-C/2020) – Winegar is a strong down-low presence in the paint. Has a good ability to finish in the paint with defense around her. She seals the defense very deep and puts them in a terrible situation. Defensively, she’s a very smart post defender, always getting great position. Great off-ball positioning, anticipating the next pass.
