Here, Prep Girls Hoops takes a look at several of the programs standouts this season.
Raina Bates, 5’4, G, 2022, Norwich
Another good 3-point shooter for Norwich who plays smart and is good at scoring quickly after the catch. She’s a young player but she’s good at slipping away from coverage and getting to the wing spot for an open look. She applies pressure on the perimeter and looks to trap and overwhelm opponents when they pick up the dribble.
Anna Kyle, 5’4, G, 2022, Norwich
A nice spot-up shooter for Norwich who looks to connect from three-point range. She shoots a good percentage from the floor and has a soft-touch to her shot. Kyle is also good at anticipating plays and can come across the weak side and steal the ball. She gets on the floor and looks to use her speed wherever she can and make smart plays as a defender.
Kiara Kelly, 5’8, F, 2022, Norwich
Another sophomore standout for Norwich who plays hard and looks to use her speed and strength to her advantage. She shows a lot of passion in her play and is a good transition defender and is quick to get back on defense. She’s an unselfish passer and is good at rebounding and can score some for herself as well. Kelly just makes smart hustle plays.
Avery Rosenhagen, 5’7, G, 2021, Norwich
A nice guard who can handle the ball, create turnovers and make something happen in transition. Rosenhagen is a strong defensive player who looks to apply pressure in full Court situations. She can force opponents to use a week and and looks to swat away the dribble and trap opponents in corners. Also a strong 3-point shooter who looks to hug the line and can finish plays through contact.
Brittany Gosch, F, 2021, Norwich
Gosch is a good peace for Norwich who looks to apply pressure and protect the basket. She is good at staying in front of the ball and can use her length to block shots and tip away passes. Gosch is a physical defender and is good at anticipating plays and coming away with the ball.
