These teams we have watched multiple times this year and we are impressed with what type of floor game they play, the coaching they received and how the kids play hard at every waking moment on the floor. Here we go with our favorites in this division that we think can either win a title or make it to the finals.
Camarillo HS: comes in with an overall (23-3) record and a (9-0) record in the Coastal Canyon league; they are highlighted by seniors Alyssa Marin(21.6ppg) and Jocel Deleon (10ppg), both performing well this season and is rounded out by sophomore Gabriela Jacquez (20.4ppg). This team is fighting to see who is the best team in the Ventura with a couple of deserving teams in that area. The MVP of the Ventura County is going to be a close one.
Redondo Union HS: comes in with an overall (14-12) record and a (7-2) record in the Bay League; they are led by Seniors Anna Johnson (Santa Clara) and Alyssa Munn (Academy of the Arts) and junior Callie Stokes. Redondo is that team you do not want to play in a close game, they have many weapons and they can beat a team at any given moment with their roster.
Harvard Westlake HS: comes in with an overall (19-8) record and a (7-1) record in the Mission League; they are led by Juniors KiKi Iriafen (23.3ppg) and Melissa Zozulenka (12ppg) and Kimiko Katzaroff (9.2ppg). Harvard Westlake is that team no one wants to play because of the post dominance that KiKi Iriafen brings to the game.
Martin Luther King HS: comes in with an overall (23-5) record and a (9-1) record in the Big VIII League; they are led by Seniors Raya Smith (13.8ppg), Olivia Moran (13.3ppg), Nyah Moran (11ppg) and Junior Alexis Mead (20ppg). The Moran twins are a problem for everyone, but it is the other play of Smith and Mead that gets it done for them. They are tough to hold down.
Chaminade HS: comes in with an overall (21-7) record and a (6-2) record in the Mission League; they are led by Seniors Alexis Whitfield, Kimberly Villalobos, Jazmine Rodriguez, Julinna Fletes and Lulu Lima. Chaminade could possibly be the champion of this division by the talent they possess, they have the best forward in the business in Whitfield and the best all-around player in Villalobos. The guards play is solid and they will overcome most teams in a close game.
