Two years ago, they were led by the freshmen backcourt of Kyndall Hunter and Rori Harmon, a couple of players I called #D1Locks in elementary school, everything I say is verifiable and #BCSLocks shortly after and with that being said, they form one of the best backcourts not only in the area and state but the country as well. The steady play of Morgan Hill along with the improvement of Taylor Jackson has them not only leading their district but are undefeated at 33-0, the only undefeated team in 6A, and ranked #3 in the state by TABC. I’ve seen most of the teams from various districts and I think I’ll do a breakdown on who might make a run but, to be honest, it’s the Cougars and everyone else
I can only go by Max Preps listings, I have no idea what the actual records are but Jersey Village, Cy Fair, Memorial, and Cypress Ridge appear to be battling for the final three spots in District 17 and to be honest, this is one of those districts that based on seedings and what has transpired over the second part of the season, they could possibly sweep the first round. Jersey Village is led by the explosive scoring duo of Gia Adams and Briana Peguero while sharpshooter Amanda Turpin, one of the best long ball shooters in the area, leads the charge for Cy Fair
I’ve seen Memorial several times, the boost given to them by freshmen Riley McCloskey and Abigail Tomaski makes them a definite threat to pull off an upset in the playoffs and this is one of the up and coming young teams in the area, wait and see what’s coming next year. I haven’t seen Cypress Ridge this season, they’re in a position to make the playoffs, again, based on Max Preps standings and a big reason has to be Asia Broughton who made a couple of my Tip Sheets from the summer as well as almost 5 years ago but sometimes people forget which is amazing, to say the least. After further review, it appears Ridge will play Creek on Friday which will mathematically eliminate them if the standings are correct but who knows
