When you have a high octane junior backcourt with #BCSLocks Rori Harmon and Kyndall Hunter, keep in mind I called them both that before their first middle school games, you’re going to have some issues because they’re capable of combining for 50 at the drop of a dime, which both do as well and have established themselves as one of the best backcourts in the country, I don’t have to see anyone else to make that statement because there is no me and I know exactly what I’m looking at
There is also the vast improvement of both Taylor Jackson who climbed up the 2021 list as well as senior Morgan Hill (Louisiana Monroe) but it boils down to one of my favorite sayings, the game starts at the one and in this setting, it means which one of the H&H duo are you going to key because either will just completely off. Their district (17) is paired against (18) and Creek starts off with Lamar who has one of the states, top freshmen, Kahlayn Barnes I thought Heights would run away with that one but I was wrong as they lost a close one to Bellaire. Heights and it’s junior Big Three of Gracelynn Alvarez, Tierra Simon, and Sincere Roberts starts off with Memorial featuring freshmen sensations Riley McCloskey and Abigail Tomaski.
Bellaire and Westside were once teams you had to go through to get to state, in fact, Westside almost made it last season losing in the Regional Finals to Summer Creek but Fatou Samb (Cal Berkley) wants to go out with a bang but Cy Fair’s Amanda Turpin is capable of dropping 30 on any given night and the senior isn’t ready for her season to end. Bellaire has to go against that impressive duo of Gia Adams and Briana Peguero from Jersey Village but to go back to my opening paragraph and title of this article, I do not see anyone stopping Cy Creek from getting to regionals and I’ll touch on who has an outside chance once they get there later today
