Erie is the seventh ranked team in Class 4A according to CHSAANow. Their roster has a lot of great individual talent, but their ability to play well as a team is what has helped to lead them to an 15-2 record.
Grace Moyers – Guard – 2022
Grace is a phenomenal scorer. Currently ranked 11th in her class for scoring according to MaxPreps, she is leading her team with a total of 271 points while shooting 42 percent from the field and 90 percent from the free-throw line in 17 games so far. She is third on her team in assists (51) and steals (35), making her a very well-rounded player with tremendous upside.
Genevieve GudinoGenevieve Gudino – Guard – 2021
With 225 points and 83 rebounds, Gudino is the second leading scorer and third leading rebounder for the Tigers. Her 54 recorded assists puts her at second on the team while her 59 steals is tied for a team high. She played three games with a broken nose before getting it casted, then played another two before getting the cast off. Gudino’s talent and toughness makes her a top prospect.
Alyssa Barnett – Center – 2020
Barnett brings a strong veteran athlete presence to the Tiger’s roster. She has totaled 118 points, 81 rebounds, and 14 assists over 17 games. Her ability to take charge of the low post area is what comes with being the only senior on the team. Barnett plays with a competitive attitude that she easily backs up with her strength and experience.
Edie MorrowEdie Morrow – Forward – 2022
Morrow is probably one of the best complimenting role players in her class. Averaging 4.1 points, 5.8 rebounds, 3.5 steals, and 3.3 assists per game, referring to Morrow as an asset would be an understatement. She possesses the ability to score from the wing and dominate the entire post while doing so effortlessly. Morrow is an outstanding player, do not underestimate her.
Deb AltshulerDeb Altshuler – Guard – 2022
Much like Morrow, Altshuler is a quiet phenom. She is the third leading scorer on the team, tallying up 178 points while shooting 46 percent from the field and 59 percent from the line. Her 82 rebounds puts her one away from tying for third highest. She’s outrageously talented, capable of being a versatile shooter from the wing and a powerful scorer at the rim. At such an early stage in her high school career, Altshuler has seemed to master the ability to simply clock in and go to work.
Anna Hefner
Anna Hefner – Center – 2021
Hefner is leading the team in rebounds with 112 on the season so far. She is also a very capable scorer, trailing Altshuler with a total 161 points while shooting 54 percent from the field. Averaging 9.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game, expect another well-rounded player to help dominate the court for Erie.
Ava WeltyAva Welty – Guard – 2022
Welty is an exciting defensive player to watch because of her ability to frustrate her opponents with her relentless pressure. With her ability to apply full-court pressure without showing any signs of fatigue, Welty is easily one of the more underrated sleepers in the state. Welty’s game slightly resembles that of Patrick Beverley’s which can be described with one word, fierce.
