Monday February 17th 7:15 PM : Neillsville is currently number 1 in the Cloverbelt- East Conference leading ino playoff action. The team has gone 14-1 on the season. The team averages nearly 60 points per game and has made 91 three-pointers as a team. Columbus Catholic is ranked fifth in the Cloverbelt- East Conference. The team has really stepped up as of late and have been playing really well together. Players to watch:
Bella Opelt | Senior | Neillsville
Leading the squad is junior guard Bella Opelt with 14.8 points per game. She is an incredibly crafty guard with a pure scorers mentality. She scored a season- high 29 points in a one-point loss against Owen- Withee. She also scored 20 points in a nice win over Colby.
Addison Baierl | Senior | Columbus Catholic
UW Platteville commit as put the team on her back this season. Averaging nearly 19 points per game, Baierl could easily go off any given moment. She has an incredibly high basketball IQ. She scored 29 points against Pacelli and 27 points in a win over Greenwood. Baierl also averages 6 rebounds per game.
Howards Grove vs Ozaukee @ Ozaukee High School
Tuesday February 18th 7:15 PM
Howards Grove is coming into the game with a 19-1 overall record. The team is number one in the Big East- North conference. Ozaukee is entering the game with a 17-4 overall record and second in the Big East- South conference. Both teams are averaging nearly 60 points per game.
Key players to watch:
Mackenzie Holzwart | Junior | Howards Grove
A 5’7 guard who is a natural play-maker but can step up as a scorer for her team. She is averaging 16.3 points per game this season and 5.4 rebounds. She has an excellent shot and has a 46% three- point percentage. Holzwart scored her season-high 26 points in a nice win over Saint Mary’s Springs.
Becca Schauer | Senior | Ozaukee
An experienced guard who has had huge numbers this season. She is averaging 20.2 points per game for her team. Schauer is 5’6 but makes up for size with her quickness on both ends of the floor. In her most recent win over Reedsville she scored 38 points.
Milwaukee Marshall vs Milwaukee Bay View @ Bay View High School
February 19th 5:30 PM
Milwaukee Marshall enters the game 4th in the Milwaukee City- Blue conference. The team is 11-5 overall and is averaging 52 points per game as a team. Bay View comes into the match-up with a 6-6 overall record and 6th in the Milwaukee City- Blue conference. This game will be essential into setting the tone for playoff action. Key players to watch:
Kammy Dixon | Senior | Bay View
Leading her team is Dixon, averaging 16.3 points per game. She has a pure scorers mentality and knows how to find her spots on the floor. Dixon could easily take over a game offensively. Dixon dropped 38 points in a win over Milwaukee South. She also had 24 points in another win over Milwaukee North.
Alvi Badberry | Sophomore | Milwaukee Marshall
The 5’8 guard has been super consistent this season. She has been dropping huge numbers. As a sophomore for her squad, Badberry has become a leader for her team. In a close loss against Janesville Parker, Badberry scored 28 points. She also scored 37 points in a win over Milwaukee Madison.
