This was Concordia’s first appearance in the championship game, while Bryn Mawr won the whole thing in 2017-18.
Bryn Mawr took a 9-3 lead into the second quarter and five of those points came off free throws. Concordia’s points came off a 3 point shot by Paige Bailey to open the game. The Mawrtians controlled most of the game and beat back a couple of runs by Concordia to pull away late and take a 42-32 win back to the city. Brooke Vinson scored 15 points for Bryn Mawr and led all scorers.
Hailee Ford, Freshman, Concordia
Hailee definitely has some skills. At 5’11” she has good size, and she can handle and pass the ball. She showed off her 3 point range and crashed the boards She has a nice feel for the game and threw some nice passes. . Looking forward to seeing her this summer against some better competition.
Brooke Vinson, Sophomore, Bryn Mawr
Brooke is a very athletic wing and she was all over the court all day. She put constant pressure on Concordia’s defense by using her speed and ability to change directions. She pushed the fast break every chance she could and it resulted in plenty of easy shot opportunities and free throws.
Favour Udeh, Junior, Bryn Mawr
Favour had a strong game. She came up with a couple of timely baskets and rebounded well. She was the only real traditional post player in the game and her six feet of size made a difference. She played within herself and made all he basic plays without committing costly turnovers.
Stephenae Lawrence, Junior, Concordia
I like the energy Stephenae brought to the game. She did all the dirty work inside the paint, rebounding, hitting the floor for loose balls and and playing tough defense. She made a nice strong power move to finish through contact for an “and 1” late in the game. She is definitely prospect for a DIII program in need of a glue type player.
Abby Hurlbrink, Senior, Bryn Mawr
Abby played this game as if it was her last high school game, which it was. She came away with 11 points and got most of her buckets off hustle plays, running the court and being in the right place at the right time. Whenever Concordia started to make a run Abby was there to make a momentum changing play. Great way to end your high school career.
