What is the biggest strength of your game?
Kayla Rutledge
My biggest strength would have to be my athleticism and ability to use it for going after loose balls, getting back on defense, and all around playing.

What are your goals for the rest of the season?
Kayla Rutledge
For the rest of the season, I’d like to advance my leadership skills and being more vocal than usual and improving my outside shot. Also, I would like for my team and I to win districts this year and go further.

Tell me about 1 teammate you love playing with?
Kayla Rutledge
One teammate I love to play with is Nya Thomas from Belleville, who is also on my travel team. I think we just have such great chemistry and a great relationship off the court, it just transitions onto the court.

Who is the toughest player that you’ve ever matched up with?
Kayla Rutledge
One player that was toughest being matched up with would have to be Myonna from West Bloomfield. Myonna is very shifty and quick on her feet.

What would you tell a kid that wants to be as successful in the game as you’ve been?
Kayla Rutledge
Stay focused and keep your eye on the prize. Also, you’re going to have off days but don’t get discouraged by them, keep going.

What’s your favorite gym to play in?
Kayla Rutledge
My favorite gym to play in would have to be Detroit Edison’s gym.

Who’s your favorite teacher? Why?
Kayla Rutledge
My favorite teacher is my Leadership teacher, Mrs. Riddock. She is my favorite because she gets me out of my comfort zone.
