Where here is a short list of players that we believe are the tops in our book for the specific skill they showcase.
Here is my list for Los Angeles Area (5) Best Forward/Wings, Period……
2020, 6’3, SF, Chaminade HS, Alexis Whitfield – Alexis is one of those special post players that comes along once in a lifetime, she is gifted in all ways on the basketball floor. She is skilled to score from all three levels on the floor and it’s just a delightful player to watch. She is what you wanna call a point forward, Magic Johnson was called a point forward in his day, that’s how special she is. (Committed to University of Washington)
2020, 6’2, SF, Chaminade HS, Kimberly Rodriguez – Kim is that do-it-all player that is gonna do all the things that do not show up in the statbooks, she is tough, she is a warrior, she is always one of the best players on the floor. Her shooting ability is great, she can get to the rim with crafty moves and she can spot up an shoot the ball from anywhere on the court. She makes her teammates better and always talking to her teammates during the game. With her return to the roster for Chaminade, this make them better each and every game they play. (Committed to San Diego State University).
2020, 6’2, SF, Sierra Canyon High School, Alexis Mark – Alexis can play, she is one of the most athletic guard/wing players in the state of California. She is defensively talented a great deal and she is a problem each and every time she is on the floor for any opponent. She is a natural scorer, going to the rim strong and can create contact and keep her body in control to finish thru the contact. We love her midrange jumper from the free throw line, she is still developing the three ball, but she deserves to be on the ballot for the burger game. (Committed to Boise State University)
2020, 5’10, CG, Cyan Dyke – She is a tenacious an scrappy guard on the floor for Bishop Montgomery, she is the leader, this is very apparent as you watch them play on the floor. She can finish at the rim, which she attacks with vengeance, she is tough around the basket, almost bully-like, which this writer is very fond of as a basketball trait skill. She shot the midrange with confidence and also knocked down a three we believe, her defensive game is good, she keeps her defender in front and applies the much needed pressure to make her opponent get rid of the ball.
2020, 6’1, SF, Windward School, McKayla Williams is a dynamic wing with great upside for the college game in our opinion, She attacks the rim with a purpose, she can score at all three levels, she is stroking that three ball consistently. She is long and lanky and sits down on defense and is a stopper on the floor for her team, she is also the teams leader in our opinion. (Committed to Gonzaga).
