Damaris Rodriguez – Secaucus
The senior guard has double digit assists in almost one third of her team’s games. Rodriguez is averaging 7.8 assists per game, helping three of her teammates to scoring over 100 points on the season. Always looking to find the open teammate, Rodriguez has taken on an increased scoring roll during her senior season.
Eliana Huancaya – Kearny
The senior point guard is averaging 7.5 assists per game, with her impressive season high being 14. Her passing ability has helped lift the burden for her fellow senior teammate, Samantha Osorio to average 19 points per game. Huancaya stepped up her game as a junior and has now taken an even bigger stride as the floor leader for her squad.
Eniya Scott – Bayonne
Only a sophomore, Scott plays with a tough nosed mentality. She is averaging 6.9 assists on the season. Scott is always finding her senior teammate, Makoye Diawara all over the court, helping her to an 18 points per game average. They combined for a formidable duo that lead this top 20 ranked team in the state. With two more years of high school to go, keep a lookout for Eniya Scott to become one of the top all around players in the state.
Caitlyn Decker – Red Bank Regional
Caitlyn, in her junior season, leads a well balanced scoring attack for the Bucs. Decker has set the tone for her team averaging 7 assists per contest, always looking to set up her teammates before taking her own shot. Decker is able to attack and defense thrown at the team and she is a big reason for the teams’ first public division title in almost 25 years.
Biancao Girodano – Jackson Memorial
The senior is somewhat of an old school point guard. Giordano is a pass first lead guard who does not do much scoring. Not that she isn’t capable of it, but she excels at distributing the basketball. Averaging 7 assists per game, she has two dominant scorers on her team who get some easier looks because of Girodano’s court vision and passing ability.
