The dog days of January are finally over and now we are into the final stretch run of the season. With district and region races heating up, teams are ideally hitting their peaks and playing their best ball. With big games occurring on almost a nightly basis, there are opportunities for teams to stack together quality wins at every turn. 

Here are last week’s top teams:


The Vikings continue to steamroll the competition, winning twice last week to improve to 14-0 on the year. Kindred beat Milnor/North Sargent by 33 points on Friday night. The big win of the week came on Saturday where in a matchup we could see in the state tournament, the Vikings beat a ranked Thompson team by 17, getting excellent performances from Abby Duchsherer and Terryn Johnson.

Heart River

After starting the year 4-4, Heart River has won nine games in a row and in doing so, have matched last year’s win total of 13. Last week, the Cougars earned tough wins over New England and Beach, winning twice by a combined eight points.
