PGH Iowa Week 8 Player of the Week Voting
We are done with the eighth week of the season and that means Player of the Week voting! Each week we will be taking five of the top performers from the last week and letting you vote for the Player of the Week, provided that we have enough candidates nominated. The poll will be posted on Sunday and voting ends on Wednesday at noon. Let’s meet the five candidates below.
Jena Young | 2023 | Winterset | 3 games, 98 points, 4 rebounds, 14 assists, 23 steals
Young scored 22 points in an opening week win over Martensdale-St. Marys. She also grabbed five rebounds, dished out eight assists, and had five steals. In the second game of the week, she scored 41 points and set a school record in the process for points in a game in a win over ADM. She also had seven rebounds and four assists in that game. Young finished off her week by scoring 35 points in a win over Carroll. She also had 11 steals in that game to secure her double-double.
Grace Boffeli | 2020 | North Scott | 2 games, 58 points, 23 rebounds, 5 steals, 4 blocks
Boffeli had a tremendous game with 43 points and 15 rebounds on Tuesday night against Bettendorf. She then had a 15 point, 8 rebound game in a big win against Bettendorf. Boffeli had the highest scoring total in the state of Iowa last week.
Sharon Goodman | 2020 | Crestwood | 2 games, 73 points, 26 rebounds, 9 assists
Goodman had one of the most efficient weeks of her career as she scored 42 points on 18-of-20 shooting. She also had 19 rebounds in that game for one of the most complete games of the season so far. In a loss to Clear Lake she had 31 points and seven rebounds. In that game she shot 11-of-17 from the floor.
Megan Stuhr | 2021 | Sigourney | 3 games, 68 points, 20 rebounds, 10 blocks, 7 steals
Stuhr had a tremendous opening game of her week as she dropped 41 points and hit eight 3-pointers. She also had five blocks in the win over Colfax-Mingo. Stuhr then had 11 points and 10 rebounds in a win on Tuesday. Stuhr had 27 points and five blocks in a loss on Friday to Iowa Valley.
Brooke Loewe | 2022 | Ballard | 2 games, 40 points, 7 rebounds, 10 assists
Loewe had seven points and five assists on Tuesday in a big win over Boone. She then had a 33-point outburst against Bondurant-Farrar in a win. Loewe hit 9-of-11 3-pointers and added five assists. Loewe’s hot shooting propelled her team to two wins this week.
