Continue ReadingWith the release of the latest PGH Colorado rankings update for the 2020 class on Monday, there was plenty of player movement up and down the list. Rather than being a product of players lowering their stock, most of the movement resulted from players playing their way up the list as well as the addition of a dozen new players to the rankings.
Here are five seniors who have raised their stock as much or more than anyone else over the course of their final regular seasons in high school.
Isabelle “Izzy” Munson
Isabelle Munson, 5-9, PG, Fairview
The Emory University commit has taken her game to another level and has been on an absolute tear since the start of the 2019-20 campaign when she scored 30 or more points in two of the Knights’ first three games. Since then, Munson has been at or near the top of the state in scoring and is averaging 22.4 points per game. Munson, who goes by “Izzy,” is the complete package at 5-foot-9 with a versatile skill set. She is currently putting up three assists, 5.8 rebounds and 3.7 steals per game while shooting 39 percent (37 for 96) from long range.
Perhaps the biggest stock-riser of them all so far, Munson moved up 17 spots from No. 33 to No. 16 in the rankings.
Lauren Zwetzig
Lauren Zwetzig, 5-9, SG, Fossil Ridge
Set to play at Haverford College next season, Zwetzig has done plenty to prove she is deserving of a spot on a college roster. Most recently, she went 3 for 5 from behind the 3-point arc to score a game-high 15 points and lead the seventh-ranked Sabercats to a pivotal win over Broomfield that more than likely earned them the Front Range League title. An extremely hard worker with a nonstop motor, Zwetzig also averages six rebounds and 1.4 steals a night.
In the latest rankings update, Zwetzig moved up from No. 23 to No. 19.
Krystina Hagood
Krystina Hagood, 5-7, CG, Sand Creek
Head coach Payden Golberg’s Sand Creek Scorpions (19-1) are off-the-charts exciting to watch with a small army of quick sharpshooting guards flying all over the court. The Scorpions’ lone senior in the starting lineup, Hagood has done as much as anyone to raise her stock and that rise has been rooted in her leadership. Through 19 games, Hagood is scoring roughly her average (11.7 ppg) from last winter but has taken major steps forward in her playmaking and defense. She currently averages 3.1 assists, 3.4 steals, 5.9 rebounds and a block a night despite standing only 5 feet, 7 inches tall.
An unsigned senior, Hagood moved up from No. 27 to No. 23 with the latest rankings update.
Stella Rollo, 6-1, PF, Denver East
Bound for Chico State University, Rollo fits the bill of a next-level player both in physical appearance and skill. The senior forward is having a fantastic senior season and has the young-but-talented Angels hitting their stride at the right time. A smooth operator on the floor, Rollo’s six points and 4.7 rebounds per game aren’t exactly eye-popping numbers but she simply does whatever it takes to help her team win on a nightly basis.
Keeping her young Angels team on track through late-February, Rollo has played her way up from No. 50 to No. 39.
Jada Dupree
Jada Dupree, 5-3, PG, Pueblo South
Arguably the second-best player in Pueblo, Dupree is lightning in a bottle at 5-foot-3 but with a track and field talent that won her the South-Central League titles in the 100, 200 and 400, she may end up sprinting at the next level. Whichever sport she chooses to pursue in college, Dupree has left her heart on the basketball floor through the first 18 games of her senior season. With the playoffs right around the corner, Dupree is averaging 16.5 points, 3.9 rebounds and 3.3 steals for the Colts.
In the latest update, Dupree moved up from No. 51 to No. 41.
