Continue ReadingWith the release of the latest PGH Colorado rankings update for the 2021 class on Wednesday, there was plenty of player movement up and down the list. Rather than being a product of players lowering their stock, most of the movement resulted from players competing their way up the list as well as the addition of 10 new players to the rankings.
Here are five juniors who have raised their stock as much or more than anyone else over the course of their penultimate regular seasons in high school.
Samantha Jones Samantha Jones 6'0" | SF Regis Jesuit | 2021 State CO , 6-0, SF, Regis Jesuit
Moore and Vansickle are the most oft-heard names coming out of Regis Jesuit this season but Jones is quickly getting her own name out there more and more. The six-foot junior is averaging 10.3 points, 5.5 rebounds and 1.7 steals per game this season. Her natural athleticism allows Jones to hold her own in the paint while also being able to outrun other forward in transition and on the past break.
With a developing perimeter game, Jones treated the Regis Jesuit home crowd to a bit of a surprise when she hit five 3-pointers in the regular-season finale against Ponderosa on Friday after attempting just 33 long balls in 22 previous games in 2019-20. If her 3-point stroke continues to develop, Jones’ stock will only continue to rise as her skill set becomes more dynamic.
With the new rankings update, Jones moved up from No. 79 to No. 36.

Trinity Grambusch Trinity Grambusch 5'11" | PG Smoky Hill | 2021 State CO , 5-11, PG, Smoky Hill
Grambusch is another player with the tools to be an excellent recruit if she continues to improve, and especially if she gets stronger as she gets older. Long and lean at the moment, Grambusch is a unique player in that she plays point guard for Smoky Hill despite being very nearly six feet tall. With a 4-19 regular season record, the Buffaloes won’t be participating in this winter’s state tournament but Grambusch still flashed her potential, averaging 14 points, 4.3 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.5 steals while shooting 33 percent (18 for 55) in 14 games played, according to MaxPreps.com.
Grambusch moved up from No. 60 to No. 37.

Breelyn Robinson Breelyn Robinson 5'7" | CG Grandview | 2021 State CO , 5-7, CG, Grandview
Despite playing limited minutes in Grandview’s ultra-deep rotation, Robinson still stands out as a well-above-average athlete when she’s on the floor. Though she doesn’t get many opportunities to score and averages just 2.7 points per game, Robinson truly shines at the defensive end of the floor, where she is second on the team with 1.7 steals per game. Her good ball-handling skills and natural speed also allow Robinson to quickly turn the takeaways she generates into transition offense for her team.
Robinson moved up from No. 51 to No. 40.
[player_tooltip player_id="116817" first="Liliani" last="Krause"]
Liliani Krause Liliani Krause 5'9" | SF Widefield | 2021 State CO , 5-9, SF, Widefield
Krause simply does it all for Widefield, and that’s not really overstating things much. The junior averages 14.6 pointsi, 8.1 rebounds, 2.3 assists and three steals, all of which are team-leading numbers. Still developing as a 3-point shooter, Krause is an impact player at both ends of the floor and has five double-doubles in 21 games this winter.
Krause moved up from No. 78 to No. 54.

Chelin Isaacson Chelin Isaacson 5'9" | SG Monarch | 2021 State CO , 5-9, SG, Monarch
Isaacson has an enticing combination of length and skill for a 5-foot-9 shooting guard, and is one of several emerging players on this year’s Monarch roster. Definitely a high-upside player if she can add strength, Isaacson is averaging seven points, 3.8 rebounds and 1.2 steals this season. Also working on her shooting, she sank eight of the 31 long-range attempts she has made so far this regular season for a 36-percent mark.
Isaacson moved up from No. 77 to No. 64.
