Estrella Foothills tried their best all game to get the ball to the basket, but the Sentinels were relentless on defense the entire time. At the end of the first quarter, Seton Catholic held a 28-4 lead, which they only continued to extend as the game went on.
For the Sentinels, a number of players had an outstanding game. Junior Amanda Barcello lead the team in rebounds tonight, while sophomore Lexi McNabb led in assists. Junior Bella DiGiovanni, another starter, was all over the court tonight getting things done and helping out her team.
Off the bench, Juniors Jamie Gillian and Annemarie Trojanovich along with freshman Amelie Cartagena all had a great game and contributed to the team’s huge win. Seton Catholic also let a lot of their younger players get some time in this game as a way to help get them prepared for next year, and they all shined when they had their opportunity.
The Sentinels will close out their regular season on the road on Tuesday against Marcos de Niza High School. With one day remaining in the regular season, Seton Catholic will more than likely finish in the top-spot going into the playoffs unless something drastic happens tomorrow in the game against MdNHS, setting them up for a great opportunity to return to state.
