Carson Marquardt, F, 2023, Blue Valley
Marquardt is a lanky forward prospect who stays close to the basket and makes plays. She looks to rebound on defense and get the ball to one of her team’s ball-handlers. She can score around the basket but hasn’t established herself offensively much yet.
S’maya Nichols, 6’0, SF, 2023, Shawnee Mission West
An up-and-coming standout for West who has great size, length and the ability to impact a game with her skills. She puts a lot of effort into her defensive game and her effort always leads to easy looks on offense. Nichols showcases elite vision and brings great handles and decision making to the floor through heavy situations where floor space seems limited and she’s forced to be creative. Also a consistent knock down shooter who is comfortable in the mid-range area. An elite player who is extremely impressive when she improvises a play in transition.
Sydney Watts, 5’9, G, 2023, Aquinas
A terrific young prospect for Aquinas who has speed, size and a fluid inside-outside play. She’s creative with the ball and shows a lot of promise as a facilitator and step-back shooter. Watts is great at defending the ball and adds length and size to the perimeter as a defender. Watts can force turnovers and is great at finishing in transition. She has the ability to score in bunches and shows a high ceiling as an offensive threat for Aquinas.
Jordyn Wilson, G, 2023, Olathe West
A thin guard who runs the floor and looks to get easy shots around the basket. Wilson is a freshman guard who can play well on both ends of the floor but shows potential as a combo guard in the future.
Mia Yang, G, 2023, Blue Valley
A nice young freshman to keep your eyes on who puts defense first but also shows some promise as an offensive player as well. She dives and extends for the ball and is good at kicking off fast break opportunities. Yang just plays scrappy and has good agility and drive in the athleticism to make plays in full-court situations.
