Top Performers for Santa Monica:
2020, 6’2, PF, Chantal Moawad – Chantal is long and lanky, smooth and calm in her game, can beat you down low with her skilled post play and also is a bonefide team leader. She used all of her skills in this game and kept the paint clear for her teammates to drive and finish. She shot the midrange shot and was successful, also was able to set some serious screens on her opponents. MVP of the game with 23 points on (10-15) with 4 rebounds.
2020, 5’10, CG, Internite Reed – Another long and lanky kid with some real athleticism to her game, she shot the three ball, handled like a point guard and was one of the better defenders on the floor. She led the team in rebounding as a guard on the floor and also led the team in this game in blocks. What I liked about her game was her will to never give up and played hard as she could for her team, true competitor. She ended the game with 10 points, 7 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 blocks.
2023, 5’9, SG, Karen Garcia – Young guard on the floor that is still trying to learn the game, but is very instrumental to the team thru her efforts on the floor. She defended well, she handled the ball and did not turn it over much, just a solid player that will be there for another three years. Got to the rim and was not afraid of contact, but much more of a perimeter player in this game we watched. She ended the game with 5 points and 5 rebounds.
Top Performers for Crean Lutheran:
2020, 5’8, CG, Shannon O’Malley – Another scrappy guard that plays really hard on the floor and is a die hard competitor for her team, just one of the trio of guard that were really impressive. She shot the three ball with consistency going (2-3) from the arc and made the right play every time on the floor. She ended the game with 6 points on (2-3) from the three point line.
2022, 5’7, SG, Taylor Feldman – This kid was a firecracker, she never stopped and she never gave up for her team. She was crafty in the paint when she drove to the basket, she was confident when she pulled up for the midrange shot. This kid showed character and promise and we are impressed with how she played in this game. She ended the game with 8 points and 3 assists.
2023 5’6, SG, Emily Reed – Scrappy little guard with some swag to her game, she is smooth, she is confident and she plays like she been there before. She shoots a rainbow three pointer that goes in consistently and has a floater to her skillset and can handle it like a pro. Would like to see her attack more often and be able to finish thru contact, but she is a fiery one on the floor. She ended the game with 6 points.
