Ava Bojanski, 5’4, G, 2022, Gardner-Edgerton
A nice hustle player who plays physical and looks to come away with the ball. She has a nice touch to her shot and can hit 3-pointers from the wing and corner spot. She’s quick and wiry with the ball in her hands and looks to find separation on offense and collapse and force turnovers on defense. A nice sophomore player for Gardner-Edgerton.
Sania Copeland, 5’7, G, 2022, Olathe North
A Missouri Phenom standout who can shoot from 3-point range while under pressure. Copeland has an eye for openings, a quick release to her shot and great mechanics. She has a lot of confidence in herself and understands she’s a scoring threat and knows how to put herself in position the score quickly after the catch. Copeland moves well off the ball but it is also a strong ball handler who can see time in both guard positions.
Saige Grampsas, 5’6, G, 2022, Shawnee Mission Northwest
A nice 3-point shooter who can connect from several spots behind the 3-point line. Grampsas is a competitive player who plays strong defense but also gives Northwest another scoring option on the opposite side. She runs hard and makes extra passes and can use her speed to get ahead of the play and finish around the glass when her team forces a turnover.
Raegan Halliday, 5’4, G, 2022, Olathe South
A terrific ball handler who values team-first play more than creating shots for herself. She looks to make smart passes and get her teammates involved as best she can. Halliday can create through her fast-break play and is good at driving the lane and playing physical. That said, Halliday is a defensive gamer who looks to stalk the ball and force turnovers. She is aggressive and relentless and plays with great speed for a player her age.
Emma Thurston, G, 2022, Shawnee Mission South
Thurston looks to create with the ball. She brings speed and handles to the floor and can get open looks for herself and those around her. She’s smart and looks to secure the ball and fight her way to the basket and score. Thurston can hit from distance and has an emerging skill set for a sophomore guard. A point option who is well-conditioned and always seems to have some left in the tank.
Summer Wieneke, 5’5, G, 2022, Shawnee Mission North
A sophomore player on the rise who can handle the ball some but also has the ability to score from three-point range and around the glass. Wieneke is a tough, smart team player at this point in her career and is learning to find angles to get her shot off. She can easily score double digits regardless of the match up and looks to continue the momentum of her team. Wieneke plays off the ball and looks to show up wherever she can and is willing to sacrifice herself to save a ball or get a stop.
