#15 Milton Union v #2 West Liberty Salem, 1:00- Milton Union is a very well balanced team led by 5-8 junior Morgan Grudich, averaging 9.2 ppg. Jayla Gentry is a 5-11 junior who also contributes 8 points, as does 5-10 junior Madison Jones. Milton ended the regular season 8-14 overall and looks to pull the upset. West Liberty Salem is a team who comes in 16-6 overall including losses in their last two games. The Tigers are a solid defensive team who can get after it. They are led by 5-11 junior Selena Weaver averaging 13.8 points and over 9 rebounds per game. She does a great job with her back to the basket, can score and finish. Can also turn and face the rim. Emily Hollar is a 5-5 sophomore guard who is a great distributor and scores at 9.4 ppg. Great floor leader. Another junior who is catching peoples eye is 5-6 Grace Estes, a hard working kid who had a stretch in the middle of the season where she was scoring at a double-figure rate. The winner of this game plays #16 Indian Lake, who is led by 6-0 senior Kristen Young, a strong physical player averaging 11.1 points. Kaylee Shelton (5-7 sr), Kayli Barlow (5-3 jr) and Bethany Golliday (5-8 sr) are also contributors. Freshman Allison Kinney is developing into a nice prospect.
#4 Arcanum v #18 Dixie, 2:30- Arcanum comes at you with a lot of prospects, but they need to utilize their talent to make a tournament run. Senior Kayla O’Daniel is a 5-10 wing who can score from inside/out, point guard Gracie Garno is an excellent floor leader, and while she doesn’t score a lot, she runs the show. Taylor Gray is a multi-sport standout, able to control the post at 6-1 and make things happen at the rim. Sophomore Madelyn Fearon is a 5-8 scorer, excellent range and a good shot. Hailey Unger is a 5-7 sophomore with a picture perfect shot from the perimeter, can put the ball on the floor and make things happen. Dixie struggles to score at under 30 ppg, but these kids will play hard. 5-10 sophomore Savannah Hartmier is their leader on offense at 7ppg, and another sophomore 5-9 Faith Fisher can contribute. Arcanum has a lot of weapons and looks to utilize that. Northeastern took the bye and gets the winner. Everything goes through Amy Stewart, a raw 6-1 senior post averaging 16.5 ppg.
#5 Carlisle v #13 Preble Shawnee, 4:00- It’s round 3 for these two conference foes from the SWBL. Earlier in the year, Carlisle defeated Shawnee 58-46 and 57-48 in very similar games. Carlisle comes at you with three big weapons including junior post Kaylee Dingee averaging 11.1 points and 10.1 rebounds as a strong post. Sharpshooting senior Caitlyn Stewart can light it up from the three, shooting 38% from beyond the arc. She is still unsigned. Shooting up the radar is sophomore guard Kaylee Lawson, who runs the show for the Indians. A couple of other kids to watch this year are sophomores Jillian McIntosh and Sidney Morris. Shawnee has the top D3 freshman in the Dayton area in Campbell Jewell, an electric athletic guard who makes plays happen. Liv Thompson is another key freshman who can produce. The winner gets #9 Bethel, who will finish their season with a winning record. Juniors Kenna Gray (5-8 guard) and Liv Reittinger (5-7 guard) lead the way and are a dangerous backcourt. Sam Wiley, Natalie Moorman and emerging freshman Karley Moore will contribute.

#17 Twin Valley South v #6 Waynesville. 7:30- these two teams both skipped past the first round and took a second round matchup. While South looks to garner the upset, the Spartans are the #6 seed and the defending state runnerup. They are led by Leah Butterbaugh, a 5-8 junior who is one of the best players in the Buckeye Division of the SWBL. She can run the offense, defend and has good range. Carli Brown is a solid guard and Kenzie Purkey is a fundamentally sound senior leader who is key to the success they want to have.
