#15 Fayetteville vs #7 Georgetown 11:00- Georgetown is no stranger to success, as they have proved to be very competitive at the sectional level for many years. They are led by 5-5 super soph Torie Utter, who is averaging nearly 20 points per game, and is a complete all-around guard who can score in a varsity of ways. 5-8 junior Maddi Benjamin is another key player at 10.3 points, while Hailey Gregory contributes 7.7 points per game. Fayetteville comes in as a .500 club and looks for the upset. The winner plays #14 Seven Hills, who took a bye. They have three prolific scorers with freshman Emma Cohen leading the way along with classmate Riley Jones, both just under 11 ppg. Also, Laura Shuppert is yet another freshman scoring 10. Very young squad.
#2 Purcell Marian vs #22 Blanchester 12:30- A very impressive Purcell Marian team looks to advance back to the districts and have a great squad to do so. Kara King is a phenomenal 5-8 sophomore who scores (14.5) and rebounds (7.0) well, while sophomore McKenna Haugabook, a 5-9 guard also contributes nearly 12 points and 6.7 rebounds per game. They play in a very challenging conference with the likes of Roger Bacon and Carroll, meaning they are battle-tested for the post season. Blanchester has senior Holly Scott at 10.8 and juniot Lana Roy adding over 6 points per game. The winner gets 4-14 Deer Park in the second round.
#1 Summit Country Day vs #23 Finneytown 2:00- SCD is loaded through their lineup and the favorite to get out of their bracket. Rachel Martin is a 5-6 senior guard who leads them at 14ppg and shoots nearly 58% from the field with a conference leading 6.8 steals per game. 5-11 freshman Gabby Martin is also having a good first season at 12.3 points and 8.5 rebounds. Junior Bryana Woodward is a forward who can score around the basket, adding 10.3 points and freshman Kyla Irby is making an impact at 7.6 points per game. Finneytown was 1-16 at the draw. The winner gets #18 East Clinton, who brings in one of the youngest teams in the district. Their top three players are freshman with 5-10 Libby Evanshine (14.7), 5-6 Kami Whiteaker (5.6) and 5-6 Jayden Murphy (5.3).
#9 Clermont Northeastern vs #11 Taft 3:30- Clermont NE is led by senior Natalie Bockman at 11.4 points and senior Makayla Drewry pitching in 7.3. The winner of this game will get #10 CHCA, who has 5-8 junior Bella Answini scoring 13.5 points per game, along with 5-4 freshman Kiylah Smoot averaging 10.9 points.
