Travis
Savanna SmithSavanna Smith-the senior guard has always been one of those players that just gave everything she had on both ends. She defends baseline to baseline and can hit the outside jumper, in fact, her ability to create off the dribble has been one of the best in the area. Her strong body gives her options, she doesn’t mind attacking and takes the lick with ease as she’s an and one waiting to happen
Kiera Baker
Kiera Baker-long and athletic is the what? It’s the base and Baker’s improvement in a short span of time has her ready for a big club season because to go along with the long and athletic, she’s listed at 6’1 and with her wingspan and tireless effort inside the paint, I’m certain she’ll get some looks in the right situation but then again, I saw enough of her energy on both ends of the court to already know
Tompkins
Loghan JohnsonLoghan Johnson -one of the states top freshmen, I knew that when I wrote about her in the 7th grade yet after seeing her in the summer, she jumped into the Top 15 but after what I saw, she’s going into the Top 10 with ease and that’s just how she gets to the basket and finishes. Poised and under control, she picks her spots and sets defenders up nicely and when you mix in a pull-up jumper, that creates multiple problems. She rebounds on both ends and can grab it on the defensive side and go coast to coast at will
Flyin Adeleye
Flyin Adeleye-she’s one of the top freshmen I omitted only because I didn’t even know if she was still playing. Like Johnson, she made a Tip Sheet the same event in the 7th grade and with a growth spurt, she is doing plenty of damage inside the paint. Her upside is unlimited, she’s a battler and you won’t outwork because she just brings “it” over and over and that #BEASTLIKE mentality is going to create some problems over the years
Mackenzie Durnford
Mackenzie Durnford-the juniors effort at the 5 spot did not go unnoticed as she did the little things a novice evaluator or fan may not notice but her activeness inside the paint, be it altering or deflecting shots is a positive that speaks volumes. That volume turns up even higher because she finishes and defends, inside or outside of the paint and she also rebounds on both ends
Crystal Smith
Crystal Smith-I caught a glimpse of the junior over the club season at the last event I covered and her explosiveness left e speechless. I still didn’t have much to say after watching her attack the basket relentlessly as well as do something I truly love to see players do and that’s “play the passing lane”, a lost art. She can score from mid to long-range, she handles the ball under pressure and what I also caught was she controlled the tempo nicely
