In what may possibly be the game of the year Bishop McNamara played host to St. John’s College. Senior night and a sellout crowd on the Mustangs home court. Both teams started hot out of the gates in route to a 18-15 Cadet lead after the first quarter. SJC kept the lead at the half going into the break 32-29. Caramina Tanedo led the way for St. John’s scoring 10 of her 16 points in the half, while McNamara was paced by Aaliyah Pitts 11 of her 20 points before the break. There were a couple of times during the game that it seemed like SJC may run away with it and one time in the third when All-American Madison Scott scored 9 of her 18 points that BMac looked like they were seeking a blowout, in each event the other team bounced back until we had a 55-55 stalemate at the end of regulation.
Overtime was the Cadets time as Azzi Fudd and Tanedo combined for 9 of the Cadets 13 extra period points and a 68-62 victory. This game splits the season series and may possibly be the setup for a championship rematch.
