Clover HS is making their 1st appearance in the State Championship game but also comes in with a lot of momentum in the game, this was shaping up to be one of the best matchups of the weekend. Clover started off the game on fire with Junior – Guard – Aylesha Wade Aylesha Wade 5'6" | CG Clover | 2021 State SC – knocked down a pair of jump shots to give her team a 4 – 0 lead early in the 1st period, Goose Creek answered back with 4 straight points to tie the game. Clover would show that they are not afraid of the spotlight that comes with playing in the State Championship game, Junior – Guard – Lauren Deal gave her team the lead again with a jumper at 6 – 4 but Goose Creek – Senior – Guard – Aniyah oliver – Came right back with a 3-Ptr to give her tem their 1st lead of the game at 7 – 6. Clover came right back to close out the 1st Period on a 4 – 0 Run, finished off by Junior Forward – La’Destiny Worthy – knocked down a jumper to close out the scoring. The start of the 2nd quarter everything tightened up on the defensive end of the court, Clover – Guard – Aylesha Wade Aylesha Wade 5'6" | CG Clover | 2021 State SC was the only bright spot scoring all of her team’s 4 Points, showing why she was the best player on the court. Goose Creek also scored 4 total points in the 2nd Quarter, they finished off the period with Senior – Aniyah Oliver Aniyah Oliver 5'6" | CG Goose Creek | 2020 State SC finding – Senior – Forward – Janise Shaw – underneath the basket for a basket to cut the deficit to 14 – 11 with Clover holding the lead.
The 3rd Quarter was much better for offensive flow on both sides of the court, Goose Creek jumped out on a 5 – 1 Run to start the period highlighted by – Senior – Guard – Kolia Adams – Knocking down a 3Ptr in that stretch to give her team a 16 – 15 Lead with 5:00 left in the period. After trading some baskets on both sides, Clover went on a 5 – 0 Run of their own to take the lead back, Sophomore – Guard – Ashley Farmer – Made a nice backdoor cut and was fed by Destiny La’Worthy to help close out the quarter with a 23 – 20 lead heading into the 4th period. The 4th Period was anyone’s game throughout the first few minutes with Clover holding a slight lead, Goose Creek – Senior Guard – Aniyah Oliver Aniyah Oliver 5'6" | CG Goose Creek | 2020 State SC came up with the big basket for her team, giving them the lead for good… Fellow Senior Koila Adams was perfect from the line down the stretch to help close out the Win for Goose Creek 42 – 38 and give them 3 State Championships in the last 4 years( 2017, 2019, 2020). Clover was led by Junior – Aylesha Wade Aylesha Wade 5'6" | CG Clover | 2021 State SC with 12 Points & 7 Rebounds, Junior – Destiny La’Worthy added – 9 Points & 7 Rebounds – Goose Creek wis led by – Senior – Janise Shaw – 16 Points & 8 Rebounds including 7-7 from the field, Aniyah Oliver Aniyah Oliver 5'6" | CG Goose Creek | 2020 State SC finished off her outstanding career with 13 Points & 8 Assists.
