Copeland was in her bag this postseason, consistently showing up and delivering whatever the Seahawks needed. Scoring from deep and inside, while also dishing out assists and grabbing boards. She averaged 15.5 points, 4 assists, and 5.2 rebounds in South Lakes’ four postseason games.
Best Hustler – Skylar Bibbee, Chantilly 2021
Bibbee was locked in and did all the little things for the Chargers against South LakesBibbee couldn’t be kept off the offensive boards in their regional quarterfinal game against South Lakes. She broke out the extra effort for loose balls going out of bounds all night long, giving her teammates energy in a game the Chargers trailed most of. While also struggling from beyond the arc all night, she hit a clutch three to give Chantilly the lead late in the game that eventually took things into overtime.
Best Defender – Zoe Soule, Marshall 2020
Soule could get this one solely for her tough defense in the 6C regional final game, which included a clutch steal in the final minute, leading to an and-one and the lead over a Madison team—that was undefeated prior to playing the Statesmen in the regional final. Her defense this postseason has been key in helping a Marshall squad that has gotten hot at the right time reach the state tournament.
Most Impressive Freshman – Mary Prater, West Potomac 2023
Prater was a pestering defender against the elite Edison scorers.Prater played tough defense against Edison’s elite scorers, straight up taking the ball out of people’s hands at times. Her impressive defensive performance against Edison was also the only game in WestPo’s postseason that didn’t see her score in double figures. To think that she looks this comfortable at the varsity level as a freshman already is alarming for opponents, and exciting for the Wolverines.
