There is something great about a forward who can dominate a game down low scoring and rebounding. That is what this group of players has done in the Class of 2021. Here are the top forwards in the junior class.
Destiny Adams Destiny Adams 6'3" | SF Manchester | 2021 State #26 Nation NJ | Manchester Township
Adams has turned Manchester into a dynasty. The team has won four straight South Jersey Group 3 state titles with three of them coming when Adams was in the starting lineup. The nationally ranked junior averaged 18.1 points and 11.7 rebounds per game. She was a walking double-double every time she stepped on the floor. Adams will be heard from for a long time around the basketball world.
Caileigh Walsh | Gill St. Bernard’s
At 6’4, Walsh was dominant on both sides of the ball. She averaged 19 points and 11.7 rebounds per game this season. She finished with 21 double-doubles and grabbed 10 or more rebounds in 23 games for Gill St. Bernard’s. Walsh blocked 4.5 shots per game and notched a triple-double thanks to her rim protection. In a win over Hunterdon Central, Walsh finished with 20 points, 12 rebounds, and 11 blocks.
Ariel Jenkins Ariel Jenkins 6'4" | C Stuart Day | 2021 State NJ | Stuart Day
Jenkins played center for Stuart Day this season. She grabbed double-digit rebounds in 27 out of 28 games she played. Jenkins was among the leaders in the state with 332 total rebounds and 11.9 per game. She has good size at 6’4 and knows how to use it. Jenkins has good hands to catch the ball and great feet which allows her to move well.
Christina Dalce Christina Dalce 6'2" | SF Rutgers Prep | 2021 State NJ | Rutgers Prep
Dalce was an elite forward. She notched 15 double-doubles this season and eve grabbed 20 rebounds in a game. For Rutgers Prep, Dalce was the catalyst for their offense. She was a leader down low and ran the offense many times from the block. Dalce was a strong passer who saw the entire floor well. This benefited the team when she faced double-teams passing out of them.
Katie Hill Katie Hill 6'0" | SF St. John Vianney | 2021 State NJ | St. John Vianney
Hill played for the best team in New Jersey and with an elite point guard in Madison St. Rose Madison St. Rose 5'10" | PG St. John Vianney | 2022 State #65 Nation NJ . Hill handled business down low. She scored in double-figures in the final seven games of the season when it mattered most. Hill is an undersized forward but you would not know it by the way she plays on both sides of the ball.
Alexa Therien Alexa Therien 6'1" | SF Cherokee | 2021 State NJ | Cherokee
Therien was a tremendous scorer this season. She averaged 15.4 points per game and eclipsed 20 points six times. Therien was used as a three guard but was able to move down to a four or five if needed. Versatility is her best attribute. This makes her extremely valuable for Cherokee.
