2022 Stock Risers:
2022 5’11 SF Tatum Thompson Tatum Thompson 6'0" | SF Woodinville | 2022 State WA (Woodinville HS)
- Quite possibly the biggest stock riser of the sophomore class. Thompson has outstanding length and hand speed for deflections. She led the 4A state runner-up in rebounds and she can truly defend multiple positions on the court. An adequate three point shooter at this stage, but a very good midrange shooter with next level elevation on her pull-up. Thompson was previously unranked, but catapulted herself to the number 13 slot in the class. It may not be too long before she is in the top 10.
2022 5’7 PG Rosa Smith Rosa Smith 5'7" | PG Lake Washington | 2022 State WA (Lake Washington HS)
- A player that has been featured multiple times in the last month, but she has been deserving. She led Lake Washington to a 2nd place finish in 3A and had a handful of strong performances throughout the playoffs. Smith has the basketball IQ, handle and shooting ability that will result in attention from some Division 1 schools. She rose from number 20 to number 14 in the latest update.
2022 5’10 SF Jada Walters Jada Walters 5'11" | SF Garfield | 2022 State WA (Bothell HS)
- A strong and mobile athlete that can make plays in transition and on the glass. Walters finished with season averages of over 19 points, 8 rebounds and 2 steals per game. She was a bright spot for Bothell this season and her performance all year was too good to deny. She has next level athleticism and will only get better with time. Another player that went from being unranked and Walters now stands at number 24 for the state.
2022 5’10 SG Kyra Gardner Kyra Gardner 5'11" | SG Raymond | 2022 State WA (Raymond HS)
- A player that had a strong freshman season, but she took it up a notch and made herself a no brainer in the new rankings. Gardner is a good mixture of skill and athleticism at 5’10. She has true guard skills and may be the biggest sleeper in the state, despite having some early college attention. She has reportedly taken unofficial visits to WSU and Idaho. The star of Raymond High School went from unranked to number 26 overall.
2022 5’3 PG Ella Koebelin Ella Koebelin 5'4" | PG Klahowya | 2022 State WA (Klahowya HS)
- Smaller guard, but her sophomore season was undeniably good for Klahowya. Koebelin is skilled, tough and finds a way to get things done on the court. She was recently featured in our breakdown of top guards in the state. The star of Klahowya took home 1A Olympic League MVP honors and led the program to a league title and its first ever playoff win. She rose from unranked to number 42 in the 2022 class.
