This group of talented ballers have come into their freshman year and made a name for themselves on a local and statewide level. Look for their names to enter the statewide rankings over the next year, but for all of the college coaches these are names you really need to get familiar with now before it’s too late.
Amiyah Ferguson – 5’7” – Guard – Northwood Academy – Highly skilled Lead guard that has the ability to be primary scorer, has gained strength and a couple of inches since last summer and it really shows on the court. Led her team to the SCISAA 3A State Championship game with a 26 – 2 Record including 8 – 0 in Region, Averaged 10.1 Points – 4.8 Assists – 2.4 Steals while starting every game at Point Guard. Major prospect to watch in this recruiting class.
Trinity Delaney – 6’0” – Wing – AC Flora High School – Long, Athletic Wing/Forward that has the ability to knock down shots from all over the court, Possesses advanced back to basket skills on the block. Can handle the ball and has great height & rotation on her jump shot, averaged 9.5 Points – 6.8 Rebounds – 3.4 Steals during her freshman year, has a huge upside because of her length & shot making ability.
Yasmene Clark – 5’10” – Wing – Christ Church Episcopal School – Skilled big guard that is able to play a front court position because of the lack of height on her teams roster, strong ball handler with a consistent jump shot. Stepped into the starting roster for the defending SCHSL State Championship team and led them right back to the Championship game by averaging 14.4 Points – 11.3 Rebounds – 2.3 Steals for a team that finished 23 – 6 on the season including 14 – 0 in Region play.
Jyahni Smith – 5’5” – Guard – Berkeley High School – Super quick, Athletic guard that has skills to match, can get up and down the court with the ball in her hands very quickly, 2 way player that can generate steals by playing the passing lane. Led a team that finished 15 – 10 and made a strong presence in the SCHSL Playoffs, averaged 10.1 Points – 4.4 Rebounds – 4.1 Steals per game this past season, look for her to make a bigger impact on the court next year.
Hailey Chiles – 6’3” – Forward – Greenwood High School – Strong frame, athletic forward that has strong shooting ability, great form and range to the 3-Pt line. Great skill set that allows for her to operate the offense from the top of the key, also can dead lift 315 Lbs and run the floor fluidly, Averaged 10.0 Points – 11.3 Rebounds – 2 Blocks – 4 Assists during a great freshman year.
