#4 New Richmond vs #2 Onalaska
New Richmond is coming into the match-up with a lot of confidence. The number four seeded team is coming off a 41-38 win over the #1 seeded River Falls. New Richmond finished second in the Middle Border conference as has been playing really well leading into playoff action. During the regional final game scoring was spread pretty evenly across the team. Their defense is what pushed them past such a tough River Falls squad. Brooke Blaszczyk finished with 10 points. Barb King added 8.
Onalska enters the match-up after finishing their regional final with a 47-34 victory over the #3 seeded La Crosse Central. Onalska was the team to beat this season in their conference. They are an experienced squad and play with a lot of composure. In the regional final seve players scored the basketball. Lexi Miller finished with a team high 11 points. Lauren Arenz added 10.
#1 Hortonville vs #2 Rhinelander
McGloneHortonville is coming off a huge victory over Mosinee. The team finished the game with a 100-55 regionalfinal win. Hortonville enters the game after competing in the FVA conference this season- the team finished first after beating top teams Kimberly and Appleton East. Their offense is beyond impressive and the team is stacked with scorers. Senior forward Macy McGlone has been unstoppable all year. She’s tough and uses her body so well inside. finished with 31 points and shot 14-18 from the floor. Lexi Day finished with 20 points and Aliyah Schmidt added 14 points.
Rhinelander also is coming off a nice victory. Their squad beat a tough New London team with a score of 66-55. Rhinelander enters the match-up with a 19-5 record and a super high paced offense. Their pack the paint defense led to the team finishing first in the Great Northern conference. In the regional win over New London the starting five worked so well together to get the victory. Cynthia Beavers finished with a game high 22 points. Kenedy Van Zile, the team’s leading scorer finished with 16 points. Rebecca Lawrence added 15.
#1 Beaver Dam vs #2 Slinger
Beaver Dam finished regional action with a huge win over Whitefish Bay. The team beat them 72-43. Beaver Dam is stacked with talent and has been nearly impossible to stop offensively this season. The team enters the game with a 21-3 record. During the regional final Matyson Wilke played exceptionally well. She averages 16.3 points per game, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and is the key player to help her team return to the State Tournament. Jada Donaldson adds 9.3 points and 5.8 assists per game.
Slinger is coming off a hard fought battle against Slinger. The team finished 46-33 in the regional final. Slinger has an impressive season and seems to be playing much better as a team during the playoffs. During the regional final, it was Anna Breuer who stepped up big time for her tema. She finished with a game high 13 points. Mallory Hoitink added 9 points for Slinger.
#1 Notre Dame vs #2 Pulaski
Notre Dame had a close game during their regional final against #4 West De Pere. The team finished the game with a 58-50 win over the #4 seed. Coming from the Fox River conference, Notre Dame has played against a high level of talent this season. The team is known for their defensive pressure and high intensity back court press. In the close regional final it was the team’s leading scorer Sammy Opichka who stood out. She’s quick in transition and finds her shot on offense very well. She is averaging 14.8 points per game for her team.
Pulaski played in a super tough regional final against a top Green Bay Southwest squad. The game went into overtime where Pulaski pulled through down the stretch. The victory ended with a score of 63-60. The team is led by Maggie Herandez who averages 13.6 points per game for Pulaski. Sheridan Flauger adds nearly 12 per game.
