Apex Friendship (24-2) vs. Millbrook (23-6)
The Apex Friendship Lady Patriots and Millbrook Wildcats will face off in the Elite Eight in what could be a preview of some future matchups between some young standout prospects. The Lady Patriots are led by sophomore wing Indya Nivar. She’s producing 26.6 points, 8.5 rebounds, 5.3 steals and 2.5 assists per game on the season. Freshman guard Milla Gnann and senior Tori Washington are ones to watch as well.
The Millbrook Lady Wildcats will play host in the Elite Eight led by juniors Keanna Rembert and Reiven Douglas. Freshman Reychel Douglas is another wing to keep an eye on with her ability to create. The trio of standouts will look to slow down Indya Nivar and make the Final Four.
Southeast Raleigh (25-1) vs. Ashley (25-4)
Standout junior guard Saniya Rivers and company will face off against a deep and talented Southeast Raleigh Lady Bulldogs squad. Rivers is a stat sheet stuffer that can do it all and will look to do what she’s done all season to lead Ashley High School to the Elite Eight.
The Lady Bulldogs will look to keep their win streak intact despite traveling on the road to face Ashley. They’ve lost just one game heading in lead by UNC commit Anya Poole, James Madison commit Jamia Hazell and unsigned senior Destini Abramson-Lee. It will be interesting to see how SE Raleigh’s depth is utilized in this one. They’ve been dominant so far through their first two games in the playoffs.
Northwest Guilford (25-3) vs. Mallard Creek (26-2)
Wake Forest commit Navaeh Brown and the Mallard Creek Lady Mavericks head into a big meeting against Northwest Guilford on Tuesday. Barton commit Lauren Walker led them in their victory over Ragsdale on Saturday with 16 points while Brown had 14 points.. Freshman guard Samyha Suffren is another prospect to keep an eye on as well.
The Lady Vikings are coming off an easy win over North Mecklenburg (71-47) in the Sweet 16. Senior guard Reagan Kargo finished with 26 points and four 3-pointers, while senior guard Thalia Carter and junior Jadyn Murray finished with 13 points and 11 points, respectively. They’ll look to keep things going against Mallard Creek on Tuesday.
Providence (25-2) vs. Vance (24-5)
The Providence Lady Panthers and Vance Lady Cougars face off in what should be an exciting matchup. Nyla McGill posted 22 points, seven rebounds, seven assists and four steals in a victory over East Forsyth in the Sweet 16. She’ll look to keep it up against Vance on Tuesday.
The Lady Cougars are led by sophomore Trinity Moreland (11.7 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.2 bpg) and senior Kyanna Morgan (10.4 ppg, 6.5 rpg, 4.8 apg, 2.3 spg). They’re a deep squad with a number of talented prospects in their rotation. Keep an eye on juniors Tanajah Hayes and Leah Barringer as well.
