Northwest Ohio Key Juniors- Part 7
Alli Vaughn, 5-9 Fort Recovery
Alli is a great all-around athlete who is a strong combo guard with the ability to do whatever her team needs to win. She has good length and looks to get to the rim on offense. Defensively she is aggressive and lengthy with solid basketball knowledge and a high court IQ. She can really do it all, shoot the three, post up, crash the boards and defend.
Kierra Wendel, 5-5 Fort Recovery
Exceptional point guard with good floor sense, a high basketball IQ and can score in a multitude of ways. She is a good perimeter shooter from beyond the arc, or can put the ball on the floor, penetrate and score a midrange jumper. Kierra (pictured above) has excellent ball control, handles the ball well with both hands. Elevates well in the paint for the short jumper with a quick release. Can play through contact at the rim, and finish strong. Active hands on defense. Good on-ball defender.
Janae Hoying, 5-7 Minster
Outstanding perimeter guard, who can play the point guard at times, but best at the off guard spot. Incredible range, can score from deep. Ice in her veins and comes up big in big games. Excellent footwork around the basket, can put the ball on the floor, get by her defender and score. Always around the ball. Great positioning on the floor, can rebound against the bigger players. Great court vision, can push the ball in transition.
Ivy Wolf Ivy Wolf 5'8" | PG Minster | 2021 State OH , 5-9 Minster
The other half of the state’s top Division 4 backcourt. Ivy is the top pure PG in the Ohio ’21 class. Defensively, Ivy anticipates the ball well and creates opportunities for her team. Solid on ball defender, quick hands and can read the floor and defense well. Moves well without the ball and offensively she has a multitude of weapons. She can score from anywhere beyond the arc, excellent midrange and shortrange scorer. Rips by her defender and can score at the rim with either hand. One of the highest basketball IQs in the game today.
Paige Gaynier, 5-7 Delphos St. John
Good body control and handles the ball well. Can score with a varsity of moves around the basket. Solid footwork allows her to freeze the defender and then finish. Excellent court vision and can move the ball north-south as good as anyone. Great passer and will find the easier shot for her team. Anticipates the game well. Fundamentally solid and improving her game every time I see her. This kid is vaulting up the radar. Watch for a big senior season and beyond.
Madison Cordonnier, 5-11 New Bremen
Excellent range for the long athletic guard, as she can let fly from beyond the arc. Can get in good position in the paint, catch and score with a variety of moves against a post defender. Runs the floor very well in transition, can get to her spot and score. Good with either hand around the basket. Good midrange shot. Verballed to Findlay.
