PGH Illinois 4A All-State Team
If you took a look at Don Halling’s Class 1A and Class 2A All-State Team articles, you already have an idea of what our goal is with these articles. While I didn’t follow Don’s format exactly, I wanted to keep things relatively consistent. All of these players were named to at least one AP or IBCA Team, but the level varies. There are players here who are no-brainers and players who I feel deserved a little more recognition for their seasons. We didn’t get too deep with 2nd teams, 3rd teams, HM’s, but instead just one 15-player team, which means talented players who had good seasons were bound to be left off the list. So with all of that being said, here is your Prep Girls Hoops Illinois 4A All-State Team:
2020 Angela Dugalic Angela Dugalic 6'4" | C Maine West | 2020 State IL , 6’4” Forward, Maine West
Dugalic finished her high school career with another stellar season, averaging over 20ppg and 10rpg. The Oregon commit has a terrific scoring ability inside and pure jumper from deep. Dugalic was named 1st Team All-State by both the IBCA and the AP.
2020 Darrione Rogers Darrione Rogers 5'11" | CG Lake Park | 2020 State IL , 5’11” Guard, Lake Park
The DePaul commit had another strong season, averaging 25.9ppg and 9.9rpg, among the tops in State. She’s one of the best scorers in the state at all levels with ‘in-the-gym’ range. Rogers was named 1st Team All-State by both the IBCA and the AP.
2020 Emily Klaczek Emily Klaczek 5'9" | CG Fremd | 2020 State IL , 5’10” Guard, Fremd
Klaczek is one of the top Point Guards in the state, and she was able to cap off her career with a 4A State Championship. The well-rounded lead Guard, a UAB commit, can score inside and out and is as steady and composed as they come. Klaczek was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and 2nd Team All-State by the AP.
2020 Taylor Gugliuzza Taylor Gugliuzza 5'7" | CG Lincoln Way West | 2020 State IL , 5’9” Guard, Lincoln-Way West
Gugliuzza is no stranger being included in All-State conversations over the course of her career. The Lewis commit is a sharp shooter from deep with a quickness to drive by most defenders. Gugliuzza was named 1st Team All-State by both the IBCA and the AP.
2020 Halle Douglass Halle Douglass 6'1" | CG Lake Forest | 2020 State IL , 6’2” Guard, Lake Forest
Douglass finishes her career at Lake Forest with 1,814 total points and 897 rebounds, along with many other impressive stats. The Wisconsin commit is a game changer on defense and can score from anywhere. Douglass was named 1st Team All-State by both the IBCA and the AP.
2020 Kayla Green Kayla Green 5'6" | CG Whitney Young | 2020 State IL , 5’6” Guard, Whitney Young
Green is a dynamic Combo Guard that scores at all levels. The Texas A&M commit can shoot well from three, and her quickness and ability to make plays in the lane make her among the best in the country. Green was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and 2nd Team All-State by the AP.
2021 Greta Kampschroeder Greta Kampschroeder 6'0" | SG Naperville North | 2021 State #10 Nation IL , 6’0” Guard, Naperville North
Kampschroeder continues to be among the best players in the country with her ability to do so many things at an Elite level. PGH IL’s #1 Ranked player in 2021 uses her strength to get looks in the lane and nice touch to finish at a high rate. Kampschroeder was named 1st Team All-State by both the IBCA and the AP.
2021 Timia Ware Timia Ware 5'5" | PG Whitney Young | 2021 State #58 Nation IL , 5’6” Guard, Whitney Young
Ware is as impressive as a Guard as you will find in Illinois. The skilled Combo Guard has some of the best handles in the State and uses that to consistently create open shots for herself at all levels. Ware was named 2nd Team All-State by the IBCA.
2022 Kenzie Hare Kenzie Hare 5'9" | CG Naperville North | 2022 State IL , 5’9” Guard, Bartlett
This is a name that will continue to be more and more well known over the next two years. The high-scoring Sophomore has nearly 1,300 points half-way through her high school career after averaging 22ppg this season. Hare was named 3rd Team All-State by the IBCA and Honorable Mention by the AP.
2020 Taylor Thompson Taylor Thompson 5'8" | PF Barrington | 2020 State IL , 6’0” Forward, Barrington
Thompson is one of the dominant post-players in the state, averaging 18ppg and 11rpg her Senior season. The University of Missouri-St.Louis commit is nearly impossible to out-rebound and can step outside and knock down threes, in addition to her savvy post-game. Thompson was named 2nd Team All-State by the IBCA and Honorable Mention by the AP.
2020 Kayla Henning Kayla Henning 5'10" | CG Evanston | 2020 State IL , 5’8” Guard, Evanston
A leader on a deep and talented Evanston team, Henning is a ball-dominant Guard who uses a quick first step and crafty ball handling to make plays. She was named 2nd Team All-State by the IBCA and Honorable Mention by the AP.
2021 Sydney Affolter Sydney Affolter 5'10" | SG Marist | 2021 State #75 Nation IL , 5’11” Guard, Marist
Affolter enjoyed another stellar season as a part of an exciting Marist squad. The Iowa commit can score well at all levels with her ability to shoot the three and attack the lane with strength and quickness. Affolter was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and 2nd Team All-State by the AP.
2020 Kendall Holmes Kendall Holmes 5'11" | CG Benet Academy | 2020 State IL , 5’11” Guard, Benet Academy
Holmes was an exceptional leader on a Benet team full of high-level prospects. The DePaul commit is a gifted shooter and can take opponents off the bounce to get to the rim. Holmes was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and 2nd Team All-State by the AP.
2020 Brooke Schramek Brooke Schramek 6'1" | PF Benet Academy | 2020 State IL , 6’1” Forward, Benet Academy
Another great leader on that Benet team, Schramek was a perfect complement to Holmes in the post. The Wisconsin commit can score inside as well as anyone, using her athleticism to create open looks for herself, in addition to stretching to the floor with a smooth three-point shot. Schramek was named 1st Team All-State by the IBCA and 2nd Team All-State by the AP.
2020 Treasure Thompson Treasure Thompson 6'3" | C Bolingbrook | 2020 State IL , 6’2” Forward, Bolingbrook
Thompson had an outstanding season for Bolingbrook, helping lead the Raiders back to the State Tournament for the first time since 2011. The LSU commit averaged 13.5ppg and 8.1rpg as a Senior. Thompson was named 2nd Team All-State by both the IBCA and the AP.
