Continue ReadingOnly time will tell if the State Final 4 ends up being played on the court in Columbus, but after an entire regular season and a bulk of the OHSAA state playoffs – we at PGH Ohio are ready to announce our All-Ohio teams. These teams will be constructed by graduating class and based on production and accolades this season, more than any other factors.
Let’s take a look at the PGH All-Ohio teams for the Class of 2021.
Player of the Year:
Madison Royal-Davis Madison Royal-Davis 5'11" | PF Toledo Christian | 2021 State OH – 5’11 Guard – Toledo Christian
Royal-Davis – pictured above (Photo Credit; Toledo Blade) had an incredible 1st season at Toledo Christian after transferring from Toledo Rogers. Madison averaged 27.3 points, 9.2 rebounds and 3.3 assists per game. After leading her team to the Toledo Area Athletic Conference championship, she was named the OPSWA State Player of the Year in D4 – after earning 1st Team D2 honors in 2019 and 2nd Team D2 honors in 2018. Known for her play-making ability and high court IQ, Madison is one of many top-notch Ohio prospects in the Class of 2021.
1st Team:
Hopewell Loudon did not lose a game this year when [player_tooltip player_id="91063" first="Makayla" last="Elmore"] played. (Photo Credit – Advertiser Tribune) Makayla Elmore Makayla Elmore 6'3" | PF Hopewell Loudon | 2021 State OH – 6’3 Forward – Hopewell Loudon
Elmore dominated all competition throughout her junior year. She led Hopewell Loudon to a perfect 22-0 regular season record, before a knee injury cost her a tournament run. A 1st Team All-Ohio selection in D3 – Makayla was also named the Northwest District Player of the Year by the OPSWA. Elmore averaged 24.1 points and 10.9 rebounds per game.
Shyanne Sellers Shyanne Sellers 6'0" | SG Aurora | 2021 State #41 Nation OH – 6’0 Guard – Aurora
Shyanne – one of the top prospects in Ohio – had another outstanding season. She was the D1 Player of the Year in the Northeast Inland District and was named a 1st Team All-Ohioan by the OPSWA. The Aurora standout had some big nights scoring the basketball this winter, including 32 against Medina Highland, 27 against Dublin Coffman and 27 against Wadsworth. Sellers averaged 21 points, 11 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 steals and 2 blocks each night.
Ivy Wolf Ivy Wolf 5'8" | PG Minster | 2021 State OH – 5’9 Guard – Minster
One of the premier big-game guards in Ohio, Wolf led her Minster team back to the state final 4 for the 3rd consecutive year. The lead guard averaged 19.1 PPG and was named Player of the Year again in the MAC. She was the Southwest District Player of the Year and also earned 1st Team All-Ohio honors from the OPSWA.
Morgan Bentley Morgan Bentley 5'10" | SF McArthur Vinton County | 2021 State OH – 5’8 Guard – Peebles
[player_tooltip player_id="91104" first="Jacey" last="Justice"] is one of the state’s most dangerous offensive threats. (Photo Credit – Twitter)Justice is another elite-scoring guard – who already owns her school’s career scoring record. She averaged 26.3 points, 4.3 rebounds, 6.2 assists, and 4.3 steals per game. An efficient scorer, she shot 42% from 3-point land and 82% from the free throw line. Jacey earned 1st Team All-Ohio honors from the OPSWA in D4 and was also named Southeast District Player of the Year.
Bree Hall – 6’0 Guard – Wayne
Bree may be the most highly recruited player in Ohio’s star-studded Class of 2021. In addition to leading her team to victories over Toledo Notre Dame, Kettering Fairmont, Centerville, Newark, GlenOak and Aurora – Hall averaged 21.4 PPG, 7.4 RPG, 1.8 APG and 1.8 SPG, while shooting 55% from the floor, 38% from 3 and 82% from the FT stripe. She was named a 2nd Team All-Ohioan by the OPSWA.
2nd Team:
Emma Shumate Emma Shumate 6'1" | SG Newark | 2021 State #90 Nation OH – 6’1 Guard – Newark
Shumate is a West Virginia commit who led her Newark team to the D1 state final 4. She averaged 15 points per game and was named 1st Team All-Ohio AND 1ST Team Central District by the OPSWA. Emma is a guard with outstanding length and the court vision to go with it. She is another coach on the floor.
Zoe Miller Zoe Miller 5'11" | C Hiland | 2021 State OH – 5’11 Post – Berlin Hiland
Miller continued her stellar career at Berlin Hiland, leading the deep Hawks back to the state final 4 in D3. The physical forward is a dominant rebounder – who also surpassed the 1000 career mark this winter. She earned Co-Eastern District Player of the Year and 1st Team All-Ohio merits from the OPSWA. Zoe averaged just over 14 points and 8 rebounds.

Hess earned Player of the Year honors from the Metro Buckeye Conference, while also receiving 1st Team Southwest District and 2nd Team All-Ohio marks from the OPSWA in D4. Emma – who is as versatile as it gets – averaged 20.3 points, 6,7 rebounds, 2.7 assists and 2 steals per game.
Kacee Baumhower Kacee Baumhower 5'8" | CG Sylvania Northview | 2021 State OH – 5’9 Guard – Sylvania Northview
Baumhower took her career to the next level this year, scoring a school record 505 points during her junior season. She averaged 19.4 points, 6.3 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals per contest. Her efforts landed her 1st Team All-Ohio and 1st Team Northwest District honors from the OPSWA in D1. The guard was also named Player of the Year in the Northern Lakes League.
Bella Kline Bella Kline 5'10" | PF Berne Union | 2021 State OH – 5’11 Guard – Berne Union
Bella is now the all-time leading scorer at Berne Union High School, finishing her junior year with 1312 career points. Kline was named a 1st Team All-Ohioan in D4 by the OPSWA. She also earned Player of the Year nods from the Central District and District 11 coaches. She averaged 18.6 PPG, 8 RPG and 4 APG, while leading her team to their first district championship in school history.
3rd Team:
Emma Gumont – 5’11 Forward – Warren Champion
Gumont did it all this year for Champion, leading them back to the regional tournament. A legitimate mismatch who plays on the block and on the perimeter – she scored at all 3 levels, averaging 17.7 points, 4.7 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 2.8 steals per game. Gumont was the Northeast Inland District Player of the Year and earned 2nd Team All-Ohio honors from the OPSWA in D3.
Taylor Thierry – 5’10 Guard – Laurel
The super-athletic combo-guard has been one of the largest reasons for Laurel’s emergence as one of the state’s top D2 teams. Taylor averaged 16.6 PPG, 8 RPG, 3.1 APG and 3.7 SPG. Thierry was named the Northeast Lakes Player of the Year and also earned 2nd Team All-Ohio honors from the OPSWA.
Bailee Smith Bailee Smith 5'7" | CG Maysville | 2021 State OH – 5’6 Guard – Maysville

(Photo Credit – Zanesville Times Recorder)Smith averaged 18.9 points, 4.1 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 3.1 steals per game. She shot 45% from the floor, 36% from 3 and 78% from the free throw line. Bailee was a 1st Team All-Ohio selection by the OPSWA in D2.
Danielle Vuletich Danielle Vuletich 6'3" | PF Western Reserve | 2021 State OH – 6’2 Post – Berlin Center Western Reserve
Vuletich – a Robert Morris commit – averaged 20.5 points, 11.2 rebounds and 2 blocks per game, while shooting nearly 70% from the floor and 77% from the free throw line. She is a long post who is best around the rim, but has improved her face-up game, making her tougher to guard than ever.
Kenzie McConnell – 6’0 Post – Circleville
Kenzie earned D2 Player of the Year honors from the Southeast District and District 14 coaches. The 1st Team OPSWA All-Ohio post averaged 16.6 PPG and 8 RPG for Circleville. The athletic big has established herself as one of South Central Ohio’s premier multi-sport athletes.
