These teams are constructed by graduating class and based on production and accolades this season, as well as a number of other factors.
Let’s take a look at the PGH All-Ohio teams for the Class of 2023.
Player of the Year:
Mari Bickley Mari Bickley 5'10" | PG Shaker Heights Laurel | 2023 State #20 Nation OH – 5’10 Guard – Laurel
Mari – pictured above (photo credit: Twitter) – is considered by many to be the top player in Ohio’s Class of 2023. She certainly lived up to those expectations during a dynamic season at Laurel – who was ranked #1 in the state for most of the year in D2. Bickley averaged 14.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 1.4 steals per night. She was voted a Special Mention All-Ohioan 1st Team Northeast Lakes District selection by the OPSWA.
1st Team:
Mahogany Cottingham Mahogany Cottingham 5'9" | CG Trinity | 2023 State OH – 5’8 Guard – Parma
The scoring guard had a huge freshman season – not only finishing as one of the top point producers in her graduating class, but the entire state. Cottingham ended the season with averages of 23.6 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.2 assists per night. She is especially great in transition, making plays off of turnovers – she finished the year averaging 6.8 SPG. Mahogany was a 1st Team Northeast Lakes District selection and also earned 3rd Team All-Ohio honors in D1 from the OPSWA.

Anyone who has ever seen her play – learned right away that Rylee Leonard Rylee Leonard 5'6" | CG Eastern Brown | 2023 State OH is a great shooter. However, this year she showed that she has much more to her game. Leonard averaged 16 points per game for Eastern Brown, earning 1st Team honors from the Southern Hills Athletic Conference and Southeast District. The OPSWA also named her to the Special Mention All-Ohio team in D3.
Reagan Vinskovich Reagan Vinskovich 6'3" | SF Belmont Union | 2023 State OH – 6’1 Post – Union Local
The post from Belmont Union Local was a double-double machine during her initial HS campaign. Reagan averaged 19.2 PPG, 11 RPG, 2.4 APG, 2.3 SPG and 0.9 BPG. She shot an incredible 64% from the field. Vinskovich earned 2nd Team All-Ohio recognition and 1st Team Eastern District honors in D3 from the OPSWA.
Margo Mattes Margo Mattes 5'11" | CG OH – 5’11 Guard – Mason
Mattes burst onto the scene, leading a young Mason squad through a brutal schedule. Margo averaged nearly 15 PPG and was named to the Southwest District team in D1 by the OPSWA, the All-GMC First Team, and was an All-District selection. She has a quick first step is a strong finisher with both hands. She has a great finishing package that includes runners and floaters.
Raeven Raye-Redmond – 5’8 Guard – Trotwood Madison
Raye-Redmond is a legitimate Division 1 prospect and she showed everyone why she has that distinction during an explosive freshman season. The athletic guard was one of the state’s top 2-way players – effecting the game on both ends of the floor. Raeven averaged 14.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, 3.0 assists and a whopping 7 steals per night. She was a 2nd Team Southwest District and Honorable Mention All-Ohio selection in D2 by the OPSWA.
Rylee Sagester Rylee Sagester 5'6" | CG Tri Village | 2023 State OH – 5’6 Guard – Tri Village
Sagester has been familiar to Ohio basketball fans for quite some time now. She played a large role in TV’s run to the regional tournament. The D4 2nd Team All-Ohio and 1st Team Southwest OPSWA selection averaged 17.4 PPG and made an incredible 104 3-pointers. She has unlimited range, a quick release and great form on her jumper.
2nd Team:
Kendal George Kendal George 5'9" | CG Centerville | 2023 State OH – 5’9 Guard – Centerville
Kendal was a standout in the highly-competitive Greater Western Ohio Conference – earning a 2nd Team All-GWOC nod. She averaged 9.2 PPG, 1.8 RPG, 0.5 APG and 0.6 SPG. The sharp-shooter was one of the best in the entire state of Ohio – finishing the year at a 49% clip from 3, making 68 long-balls – also putting her among the state’s leaders. George was 89% from the FT line.
Allie Stockton Allie Stockton 5'11" | PF Sidney | 2023 State OH – 5’9 Guard – Sidney
[player_tooltip player_id="93557" first="Allie" last="Stockton"] impressed during her freshman year at Sidney. (Photo Credit – Sidney Daily News)Stockton had an incredible freshman season. She averaged 16.5 PPG, 6.9 RPG, 2.1 APG, 2.6 SPG and 1.4 BPG. The 1st Team Miami Valley Conference selection also earned 3rd Team honors from the OPSWA Southwest District. The physical guard has a solid mid-range game, but is at her best attacking the rim – putting pressure on defenses as a driver.
Abbie Riddle – 5’11 Guard – Liberty Union
The long and lanky lead guard showed why she is such an intriguing college prospect. She earned 1st Team Buckeye Division honors in the Mid-State League. Riddle, a great passer who not only creates offense for herself, but also her teammates – averaged 14 points per game. She was named a 2nd Team Central District performer and Honorable Mention All-Ohioan in D3 by the OPSWA.
Lexi Howe Lexi Howe 5'9" | CG Dresden Tri Valley | 2023 State OH – 5’9 Guard – Dresden Tri-Valley
Tri Valley made it all the way to the State Final 4 in D2. Their up-tempo, pressure, full-court style of play leaves opponents gasping for air and looking for answers. Lexi Howe Lexi Howe 5'9" | CG Dresden Tri Valley | 2023 State OH – a tremendous athlete with great instincts and a high IQ – may have been the team’s best player. Howe was a 1st Team Eastern District and Special Mention All-State honors from the OPSWA.
Gia Casalinova – 5’7 Guard – CVCA
Gia was one of the top players in the Principal’s Athletic Conference – finishing as a 1st Team All-PAC performer after averaging over 15 points per night. She is a tremendous playmaker with the ball in her hands, constantly finding ways to get to the FT line – where she is a great shooter. Casalinova was a 1st Team Northeast Inland and 3rd Team All-Ohio selection from the OPSWA.
3rd Team:

Braaten is a coach’s daughter who plays the game the right way. A classmate of the previously-mentioned Mari Bickley Mari Bickley 5'10" | PG Shaker Heights Laurel | 2023 State #20 Nation OH , Braaten was another key contributor for Laurel’s standout squad. She averaged 7.4 PPG, 2.5 RPG, 1.7 APG and 1.7 SPG. Kendall shot 41% from the floor and 42% from 3-point land. She was an Honorable Mention Northeast Lakes selection in D2 by the OPSWA.
Maren McCallister – 5’9 Guard – New Hope Christian Academy
A rare non-OHSAA addition to one of these lists, Maren showed off during OHSAA and OCHSAA games. The special athlete earned All-Ohio honors from the OCHSAA coaches after she led her team to the championship game – finishing her year with averages of 15.4 points, 7.5 rebounds, 4.3 assists and 3.3 steals.
Annabel Rodriguez Annabel Rodriguez 5'8" | CG Chippewa | 2023 State OH – 5’8 Guard – Chippewa
A highly-skilled guard, regardless of graduating class, Rodriguez seems to always make the right play with the ball in her hands. She is physically sound and show signs of finishing through contact around the rim. A good shooter with her feet set, Bel averaged 9.5 PPG, 4.5 RPG, 3 APG and 3 SPG while being named an Honorable Mention selection to the District 4 Coaches and Northeast Inland teams.
Kylie Leibacher Kylie Leibacher 5'11" | SF Castalia Margaretta | 2023 State OH – 5’9 Wing – Margaretta
Leibacher is a super-talented point-forward for one of the state’s top D3 teams in Margaretta. Stronger than most players her age – Kylie averaged over 10 points and 4 rebounds per night for the Polar Bears, while shooting 60% from the field. She can finish around the rim with both hands and does a great job hitting the offensive glass. Kylie earned All-League honors from the Sandusky Bay Conference and All-District honors from the OPSWA in the Northwest.
Carter McCray Carter McCray 6'1" | PF Elyria Catholic | 2023 OH – 6’1 Forward – Lake Ridge Academy
McCray is a long, athletic forward who does most of her damage around the rim. She had a great year for tradition-rich Lake Ridge Academy, averaging over 14 PPG, while being named a 2nd Team Northeast Lakes and Honorable Mention All-Ohioan in D4 from the OPSWA. Carter is a good rebounder with a high ceiling moving forward.
