Friday we released are updated Class of 2022 rankings, with several minor adjustments here and there. Like in most classes, there aren’t too many traditional centers, and even a few of the ladies listed below are versatile and can play facing the basket as well. Still, though, there are several nice prospects with quality upside for the next level. Below is a look at the top 10 centers in Indiana’s Class of 2022, with additional comments to follow.

Gibson Southern’s Taylor Singer tops our list, as she has as much athletic potential as anyone along the frontline in 2022. Taylor has a strong frame and is constantly working to gain even more strength. She has tremendous length, she runs the floor very well North/South for her size, plus she has good vertical bounce to her. From a things-you-can’t-teach standpoint, she has a lot of those. The next steps for her are to just continue working on her finishing moves, to develop a consistent 15-foot jump-shot, and to stay out of foul trouble. Another true post who has really developed nicely is MyKayla Moran MyKayla Moran 6'2" | C Hamilton Heights | 2022 State IN of Hamilton Heights. She too has a strong but extremely long frame. She runs the floor well North/South, and she has really begun to show a lot of touch around the basket and even shooting it to about 12-feet. Mykayla could certainly stand to get a little quicker and bouncier, but she has size you can’t teach, and she has a noticeable presence in the paint at both ends of the floor. She has a really high ceiling in terms of her recruiting as well.
Mississinewa’s Carly Bolser is the younger sister of 2020 Toledo commit Caily Bolser Caily Bolser 6'4" | PF Mississinewa | 2020 State IN . Carly showed a much improved game this season, and added strength was a big part of that. She is extremely long, still somewhat thin, but very bouncy and active in all directions. She’s actually built more like her 2019 sister Cailyn, who is playing volleyball at Ball State. While Carly did show the ability to score it on the block and showed a much-improved 15-footer, she is also a volleyball player who is unsure of what she wants to do at the next level. One thing is for sure…she should be a scholarship level recruit in either sport. Cortney Dove Cortney Dove 6'0" | C Princeton Community | 2022 State IN of Princeton is another prospect who is still in the developmental phases of her game, but someone who has a lot of upside to offer for the next level. She has a long, wiry strong frame, plus she has an older brother (Class of 2019) who is 6-9 and playing Division-I basketball at the United States Military Academy (Army), so she has the chance to still grow another inch or two. Cortney put together a really nice Winter, averaging 12.4 points and 7.0 rebounds per game, and as she gets stronger and works on a consistent go-to move, I think she could become a really nice scholarship prospect down the road.
One player who will certainly see their role increase significantly next season is Leah Carter Leah Carter 6'1" | PF Northwestern | 2022 State IN of Northwestern High School. Leah was a substitute for the Tigers’ Class 4A State Runner-Up team this season, but with the graduation of four Senior starters, she’s looking at a starting role in the near future. Leah has a solid, athletic frame, she has some length, and she plays with a very nice motor. She runs the floor well North/South, she’s willing to be physical inside, but she can also knock down a 15-foot jump-shot consistently. She will need to be more dynamic offensively to be that go-to player on the interior for them, but I think she’ll work hard enough to potentially average a double-double next season. While there are 10 girls mentioned above, there are several other centers I could also talk about. I think you’ll find the Class of 2022 is very strong at the top, but there is good depth and there are several really nice small college prospects as well.
